ILMOR V10 Racers??

:toetap05::toetap05:

Hold on now since I have had the pleasure of racing with Randy i have to say that he has an outlook for the big picture here....other than you guys trying to slice each other up we have had long talks about who, what, when and he shares a lot of the same ideas as the rest of the racers!!!!

Sean, you are entitled to your opinion, but this is mine, based on my own personal experience and perspective. Sorry, but I will not hold on a second. Frankly, the best thing he could do for himself and others is to keep quiet and just race. He is holding the boycotters' bag now and the results of their efforts are plain - they took 80+ boats, TV, GM, series sponsors, a great set of rules, and a 10 race national schedule and destroyed all of it, hurting the sport and dozens of his fellow racers in the process. His reasons and motivation for doing so are irrelevant. Results are what matters and they failed miserably.

I,m sorry ..

I know I will be ( dismissed ) removed from this site for my up coming remark,..................However

OSS , SUCK,S

Why would you be removed from the site, you are entitled to your opinion.

Personally I do not see how anyone is going to make any progress for the sport when their focus is extemely limited to personal vendetta. How are you guys going to cummulatively build something when all you seem to focus on is ripping each others ass open. Seeing driver seats open up cheaper than renting a bat boat has potential racers very interested, but who wants to jump in the middle of a public fist fight?? Competition belongs on the race course, cooperation belongs on shore. Im commenting now because I have seen seats advertised, and I have been seriously considering doing a few bat boat races next year, if SVL was cheaper and more fun...................

This thread, just like those in the recent past regarding SVL, are now at the point of ridiculous. Does everyone here posting remember this is a public forum. The slinging back and forth really needs to stop. After all it is the public that you need to sell this class on as they are the spectators. The spectators in numbers will bring the sponsors. The discussions on this forum are doing nothing positive for the class, actually quite the opposite.

I'm surprised those involved with the class continue the personal stabbing back and forth instead of stepping up correct and giving answers to Joe Public as to the future plans of the class and put this mess to bed.

It is sad but as of now, due to the appearance of lack of professional management in this class, the plan to continue the build for SVL class has had the candle blown out. The build will go as originally planned with the OPA production class.

I do hope OSS gets a handle on this in the near future. Good luck and safe racing.

My Point Exactly

This is what just drove the next boat owner to the class away.

what OSS? not to start another negative post but the few spec classes that are surviving, they need to figure out their issues and do something in an organized fashion. the reality as of know is OPA P class is the only organized racing. the few spec classes are spread out thru the 3 orgs and with no set rules across the board along with zero tech inspection. Look how long it took OSS to decide on a lane infraction for catlite???? there was only 2 of them racing! what a month ago.

Jim my boat is 27' and its just the ILMOR and a XR....no extention box or ITS..

We set the boat up differant between speed runs and racing...
We run a standard Sportmaster with a 24 Merc 4 blade for class 5 puts us at about 76 mph with full fuel
We ran over 90 by changing to a Imco shortie and a 27 4 blade...

It must accelerate like a rocket with a 24. I am looking forward to seeing it up close..

Over 90 with a 27 ?? At what rpm?

Hey guys, has anyone other than Gino, currently racing or thought about racing an Ilmor V-10 that i dont know about? LOL.......

PS- we won the round Ireland race last week also with the old Cinzano boat!

Mike A. I dont know you nor do I care to.You are obviously a very bitter person. You seem to hijack every thread with your negativity and bitterness.I dont know what happened in the past nor do I care. You need to let it go if you want offshore to prosper. You also have a lot of good advise since you have been there done that! You are really starting to depress me with all the negative crap.I'm sure your knowledge and experience can help us all but cant you keep it in a more positive note.I'm not so sure I want to keep racing after listening to all this nonsense.Sounds like we allready lost a potential builder (miamiguy???)keep this crap up and lose more!

You got one thing right: you do not know me. And really, I do not think I could care less about who you are. If you are getting depressed by the truth then there is medicine for that. Zoloft, do not read the posts, and do not watch the news. If you do not want to race anymore because someone you do not know or care to know, and think is speaking purely from bitterness, says things you find unpleasant, then it seems your commitment to the sport is pretty weak.

One major problem with society today is we do not know history. Talking the same nonsense day after day, week after week, year after year, pretending things are getting better, on the verge of getting to the next level, blah, blah, blah, is insane. (Holy crap, I sound like Rich)

I do not mince words. I do not play the blind cheerleading or B.S. game. If you cannot absorb the substance of what I say because you cannot tolerate my tone, then what can I tell you? Skip over my posts.

There are some teams out there that are..I have talked to 5 good prospects for next year....don't be suprised if you dont see at least 5 more next year...
Looking forward to heading up you way next month...

Ilmordude,

I'll be contacting you in the very near future to discuss power options for our boats. Will you be in Sarasota?

I feel like I gotta apolize to Ilmor for this thread even though I have no other posts in it. I for one sure appreciate Ilmor's attempt to grow thier marine business and thank them for helping sponsor events.

Thank you.
