Simple question: Has the #10 boat been informed that it has a bottom and or the deck that ideems it illegal to compete?

Thanks on Biloxi (not our water).

I spoke with George about this yesterday. He claims he has not be notified at all. He has heard these rumours and comments from the drivers meeting in Lake Cumberland.

It seems OSS is trying to appeal to the Dr to get some of his money to survive.
Again if the 10 is illegal the Fountain is also under the same rule

In that scenario we are 2nd place but I am not holding my breath!.

Maybe they needed a boat count and allowed him to race?
It appears that the #10 boat was informed the bottom was illegal and had substantail modifications to deck and hull, but allowed to compete in the one event. Ask the #10 owner if he was officially informed it was a problem and was notified? Sounds like a "smokin gun"

Boat #10 was observed at Biloxi to have modifications on the bottom of the boat by officials. Not knowing anything about them and with no protest from anyone else his boat was allowed to race. Boat #10 won the race and no protest were filed by anyone. Boat #10 followed to request by OSS to send in the specs on the changes. The changes were reviewed by OSS tec chair (Mr. Vissconsi sp) and found to be outside the limits of cleaning up the bottom. There is a certified letter that has or will be sent to Team #10 that the boat will have to remove the modifications and put back to original. Blue printing is legal.
As far as points and money I dont know what the class wants to do. I will take a wild stab at it and our class will say lets just move on. Keep the points and money just make the changes.

It is a form of Vortex generator for water. I understand the Qatar team have used it others tried and abandoned it. On a Phantom it seems moot in calm water as they lift the step clear when running best.

I recall taking 3 podium finishes in the boat you could not drive in 1999. You showed me what you made of when you saw Martin and I after we wrecked it. No comments about are you alright or I hope you will be OK. Nothing of the sort. Just your typical "I told you so." That is all you care about.. Pounding out your message.. As of now I will have to park my boat untill next year or change the bottom back, which I will not do this year. If the class wants to grandfather my boat in it will take a 100% vote. If someone wants to buy it its for sale and will have to be run as a P class boat or due about $7K in glass work to make it legal in OSS. I understand rules are rules and I will follow them. In the past we made consessions to teams to run less weight,Vortec motors,and what ever it took to build the class. We wanted more boats to race. Now Mike A,Steve and George seem to shoot holes in everything that we have worked so hard on. Its NOT FUN ANY MORE!!!!!

And while he is explaining that he might address a few other things like:

1. Why he voted to ban Doc before Biloxi and now is ok with the new boat.

2. How does he have so much information about this George controversy and George knew nothing about it.

3. How did the no-names get the specifics on the congtroversy to post here before George knew anything.

4. Is it true that Mike T. told people in Cumberland that George and Jimmy (George, you need a new driver!) cheated and would be DQ'd but had to back track when he remembered later that the rulebook still had the 100 year old rule prohibiting Mike T. from doing such a thing.

Sunshine is the ultimate disinfectant girls and boys. Put a firm set of written rules in place ASAP. Again, you are free to use the old LLC rules which allow new boats but under strict guidelines that limit changes and ensure competitive balance. Go to Smitty and get the rules locked in at OPA. He is smart. My guess is that will take all of about 2 seconds to get done. Do the same with John. He may give the radical new Fountains there own class and call it something like Super Vee Albeit Higher Calorie Light Presented by Fountain and Sponsored by Newest Supposed Rich Guy Who Wants to Spend Gobs of Money to Win Meaningless Championship While Other Broke Richards Try to Climb in Pockets, but he is smart enough to give you all your own class.

If OSS and P1 stay around then feel free to take their money too, just make it clear that your rules prevail and Mike T. will have no say in anything you do. Pretty simple formula.

I do not know why you think it is about "money". Indeed we support many nonprofit educational foundations around the globe, but boat racing is not one of them.
As far as the second point for an "illegal hull", I would respectfully disagree, it is original, and fits a dedicated mold to the specs.

Well, I guess you did not mean what you said in your PM this morning so game back on.

As far as the boat I could not drive, once again, you have proven the old adage about keeping your fingers off the key board to avoid confirming what people suspect about you. We actually won a race, were running in second in another and top three in the last one before we realized the boat was slow, imbalanced and dangerous and could not win consistently like the Nor-Tech. Indeed, the boat was so bad Reggie bought it back from us for 100 cents on the dollar. And then you Superstar, were dumb and egotistical enough to climb in that death trap. You never won a race in the thing (unlike me and Adib), were pretty much mid packers most of the time (unlike me and Adib) and when you finally tried to push it, in a meaningless exhibition "race", you rolled it over and nearly killed yourself, Martin and about five other boats, and never raced again after that.

Like shootin' fish in a barrel. And btw genuis, I do not care where you race, I was just bustin' your chops. So what I said about you in my PM this morning? Yepper, 'tis true, 'tis true. :kiss:

Are the gunnels the correct height (same as pleasure boat)?

I think it's a case of "what's good for the goose is good for the gander". It is clear things got really lose.
I have been suggesting they get tightened up.
The 2 weeks after the fact Kangaroo Court of Lake Cumberland makes the bulk of the fleet illegal.
