Texoma BS

Matt, I dought I'll make it, We are having to start our well over. Not a good week here we lost 3700' of 5" Drill pipe and $900,000.00 worth of tools in the hole. Shale started sluffing into the wellbore and packed off the bit and stuck us tighter than a pigs pussi. We couldn't circulate, rotate go up or down. As we were trying to get unstuck the pipe parted while pulling 525,000#'s on the drill string she broke @ 12,500' we were 17,200', 800' from finishing the well @ 18,000' when we got stuck. As you can see in the photos the joint of pipe that parted. This is 5" od drill pipe @ 25#'s per foot. Broke it like a stick and deformed it like a peice of taffy.

KC,,,can your boss use a raceboat to get sponsored from him...to write all these stupid things off..LOL

I know ,,i am bad..:sifone:

The one good thing about drilling a well is... losses are 100% write off. The bosses boat is 86' with a crew so he would laugh at us small fries...When we made the call about what happened first thing he said was anyone hurt? After we told him no, he laughed and told us to set a cement plug and start over.

he needs a 388 skater tender......

KC that is from pulling on it or turning on it. The grains look twisted...

Good observation Matt, When it broke, come to find out the driller picked up the string to 450,000 set the topdrive torque to 30,000 which was the thread make up torque. Then he rotated the string as fast as it would go and slacked off on it to 100,000 string weight at a rapid pace.

Things that make you go mmmmm! Everyone was so happy he got it unstuck untill I walked up to the floor and asked where is all our pump pressure it was 2400psi now it's 1400psi and why is the torque reading 5000 instead of the 10000 we had before we got stuck? Oh and it also looks like we have 10000 # less string weight for some reason. You could see the air falling out of their sails at that point....and don't bother building a slug it should drain open ended. Anyway they are laying the entire string down and picking up a new string of drill pipe.

Took the Sea Ray to Highport last night for some drinks and about to head out on the water again.

The Firefox is still tucked away.

Well dang, we were there. I saw the Sea Ray but didn't go into Highport. How was the food/service? I haven't been impressed since last summer.

VV here ya go.

And Matt the service wasn't bad. They know to stay on top of the Solder Creek crew because we spend so much there.

Not Johnny's boat I know, but there was anothr staggerd 42 with the same graphics on the lake last year. The video shows what looks to be a Boyd's valve cover.

TexPow is second to the water. Who is next?
