Just because the % of blacks is about 13 % doesn't mean they are spread equally about the country. They tend to bunch togeather into the bigger cities like Detroit and New Orleans. What is the % of blacks in those cities. I bet it is a LOT higher than the national average.

For what its worth many of my customers who are business owners and happen to be black or Hispanic did not support or vote for Obama.As I have stated before he won because he carried many voters who happen to be white.
Jay I am going to have to agree with you on the Palin thing while I kid a round she is unelectable and could hurt the party.We do not need a religious nut job in office.

In the case of Detroit, and I suspect other cities... the area inside the incorporated city becomes the "inner" city because of suburban sprawl and other factors like white flight. The riots in Detroit in the 1960s caused a great deal of re-segregation.

If you looked at the demographics of the Detroit suburbs, just adjacent to the actual city area called "Detroit" you would see drastically different numbers. Bloomfield Hills, for example... is more than 90% white I believe. Dearborn would come back as predominently Arab. Interestingly... there is a healthy dose of Christians among those Arabs, including Chaldean Catholics from Iraq.
