Hell I was sitting in the airport with Craig when we met MM, and I didn't get no jacket But hey, I can keep warm in my threadbare Formula blanket and footie pajamas:sifone::sifone:
Mark, obviously we all know how deep the sarcasm is, with that comment you make from time to time...... I enjoy reading your posts about the "fellas", from back then. It damn sure sounds like a WILD group of friends
How did you originally become friends with the Apache gang, and more importantly Ben & Bobby? Had you guys been childhood buddies, school bro's, worked together?
Outside of the "business" he chose, or the obvious legal problems it created..... What kind of a guy was Ben? Was he a cool guy to hang around, or was he an ass-hole? What was his sense of humor like?
Obviously we can read, ask, or just find out for yourself about Bobby... all of which, is great stuff. There's surprisingly little info out there, that paints an illustration of Ben, in neither a good OR a bad way. He's every bit, if not the MOST interesting figure in the entire Apache saga.
17 Years ago I took that Signature on my Honeymoon in August to Grand Haven, Saugatuck, Holland and New Buffalo Mi, Broke it, fixed it and back to Chicago. Great boat and great friends. In fact I think I parked it in the same spot in New Buffalo on the way back. They looked at me and asked if the rest of the riff raff was with me. Now I know who they were talking about LOL.
I disagree.
It wouldn't be nearly as funny if you pretended to have that dam jacket, as opposed to hanging onto it like the high school letter jacket of the boy who took you to prom and ditched you.
I was thinking today.....A couple of years ago went to see my cousin had not seen him in years. When I walked into his house the entrance was full of all his high school sports trophy's.It was like a shrine. From part of his life that was 25 years ago I actually felt bad for him he felt that was the best time of his life.Don't know why I thought of that today....................
I have a few Racers like that..one has 3 rooms full of prizes all the walls covered over one foot deep.. well with 44 National and international championship titles no wonder...and adding.
