Going to run upper barnegat bay.....prob about 25 miles from start to finish.

If we get alot of 26 & 28/29 ft boats we'll probably create a longer course just for those boats but we'll all end up at the Lobster Shanty.

Sign me up for that part. Can I be Pace Boat? I'll let you ride along if you bring your cape. Just remember - no whimpering.

  1. What is the minimum level of membership required to participate?
  2. Where is the best place nearby to launch en-mass and park tow rigs?

Hey Moses,

As for membership, I have not finalized that yet. The entry fee will probably be all inclusive (membership + event fee).

The closest ramp is Drum Point marina in Brick NJ. Great ramp but parking is limited. Ocean Gate in Bayville is a very good alternative. http://www.oceangateyb.com/ This is located at the mouth of the Toms River on the South Shore.

Based on the huge response, I think I am going to try and get the details for this event nailed down soon so I can start to see the types of boats that are going to register.

I am also of the belief that we will have 2 courses. A shorter course for 16ft - 23ft and a longer course for 24ft - 28ft.

And yes - you WILL BE a Pace Boat and I will wear a Cape...but the tights are OUT! ;) Happy New Year buddy!!

Not only will he bring the Cape, he`ll bring the whole costume .....

I may be able to get some of my crew from the chesapeake area to run sounds like a good time... :cheers2:
