Chicks, Chips & Boats

If my 20 year old step daughter announced that to me, it would make me a felon. ;)

LOL. I didn't say I was happy, but they are both (legally) adults. There is really not much I can do about it. I have been very clear that I am not raising any children. But that does not mean we are casting her to the side either. They are both in school. He is suppose to graduate in the spring, and she should by next winter. We will support them the best we can. But when you make adult decisions, you get adult consequences. He is 21, when I had Sabrina (13) when I was 21. Hell Kim had Jenifer (19) when she was 17. Does that make it right, no. But it proves you can make it work, but it ain't easy.

Well there ya go. Walked in the house yesterday to find my wife and 19yo step daughter telling me to have a seat. *This can't be good. How much is this gonna cost* They proceed to inform me that she and her long time *couple years* boy friend *who we really like* are having a baby. They were already planning a September 2010 wedding. Does this make me a grandfather???

Grandpa David, does have a nice ring to it:26:

But you can one up Chief, just post some baby pics before the grandkid goes to highschool:biggrinjester:

Congratulations? :D I'm sure it will all work out fine but it will be tough on them with still being in school and then trying to find jobs.

I'm frazzled today. I had my mom show that guy my condo to rent and he loved it. He might even buy my kitchen table. BUT I got a call from my realtor this morning that a guy who's already looked at my place twice wants to come back and see it for a third time. I'd really rather sell it but I'd just like an answer.

Sell it.............

Right... but I have to get an offer first.

I talked to my realtor yesterday about renting after I got the offer. She said that the tax credit is up in November. And they're changing the way FHA loans work. I guess now a condo complex can get preapproved (which mine is) and the loan goes smoothly. After oct, no one is pre approved and if more than 30% of the loans in a complex are FHA, they won't approve your loan and you have to get a different type of loan. She thinks this will make my condo much harder to sell (since my complex is pre-approved a lot of the loans in there are FHA so they'd need to get a different type)

Been real close to this not too long ago but we worked through it. Now, in addition to my two kids, the "little bit" is probably the best thing that's happened to us in a long time.

Now at four years old, she's already learning and helping to drive the boat.

The baby is due first of May. Just in time for boating season! :sifone:

Congratulations David, I bet you will be a big softy as a Grandpa.

With all the health care talk on the news now i am curious, how does health insurance work in this type of situation, if your daughter is on your health insurance does it cover her care only.

Stop that! No you wouldn't.

Depends on the "boy." ;)

Britt was very careful in high school. She didn't bring boys around and went to prom with a girl. This was all good, because I was already cleaning shotguns. :)

She is very picky about men, which is good. And obviously the bar was set incredibly high by her step father. :D :D

She is on her fathers health insurance. But that is a GREAT question that needs to be answered. I'm glad you asked!
