Tim & for others FYI, when you submit the "initial" total & it goes to the next page. If you scroll further down on that page, there is a "message" portion at the bottom. I almost didn't see it myself, but knew it had to be there as it was mentioned in an earlier post. In the message portion, I included my screen name, what is was for (Offshore World's Charity Raffle) & also went ahead & put my personal name & phone number so I can immediately be contacted when I win....:biggrinjester:

Unfortunately, I NEVER win these dang raffle things, but wanted to support Alec's cause. As we all know, Alec is a great guy that likes to make things happen!! I have a lot of respect for him & what he stands for!! Either way, win or loose.....Duval Street here I come.....:boobflash:.....:rofl:

I was contacted this afternoon by Paypal. Using their service to receive payments on what they term "Games of Chance" are a violation of their user agreement. For the moment we have to stop taking Paypal payments.

I am working as fast as I can to set up another payment gateway- this may take a while. PLEASE don't allow this to be a deterrent- grab a stamp and toss a check in the mail today.

They are reading to much into the law while technically it is a raffle it is also for a registered charity.Chris it may be time to look into just getting a cc machine for Serious and also have it set up to take direct payments online.I can talk to my guy if you want.That way you eliminate the need for pay pal

My bank typically does all CC processing for me. But using Paypal was the quickest and easiest when we set the site up. We need an automated function- called a gateway. Paypal provides that, as do others. As you can imagine with all the online scams going on, it's not real easy to take credit cards over the net.

There are many times I don't purchase something if they don't accept PayPal for that exact reason.

If it's worded as accepting donations $30 and up, will it meet their requirements?
