Chicks, Chips & Boats

Thanks!

I did some editing to make my above post read better...

MY idea was destination- like an island or whatever- and then have a reception when we get back.

Her parents say we are more about the party than the ceremony where they are more about the ceremony than the party. They are right!!!! I'd hit the court house and then have a throw down vs a big wedding and then say thanks for coming.

Ditto us too Mark! We did the reception when we got back. Our wedding was about the two of us......period.

I'm post ho'ing the CC&B thread today!

One of my best friends that lived with me for 4 years before he met his bride were married in Jamacia. 40+ (think 46) all went down for 10 days and was awesome.

DG- Where there is a will; there is a way (!!!!!)- if they don't make it tell them you are sorry they missed such a good time and don't hold it against them. It will be hard but they will feel even more like pooh with you taking such a high road.

There were 12 of us that went to St Criox for a wedding there. 7 days and a wonderful, wonferful time.

And agree, don't hold it against them, they are the ones missing out, not just on the wedding/reception either.

Looks like great weather so far for the weekend Donzi. It's early in the week to determine right now, but it appears summer has finally arrived.

Will the Cig be ready?

It's early to determine if the cig will be ready... I'm hoping so but "if wishes were fishes beggars would dine" or something like that.

All that's holding us up is two wiring harnesses and bolting on the exhaust. Tony planned to fire tonight but the wiring harnesses really held him up yesterday. I just don't know.

We're hoping the best for you both!

Ian and I got married the first weekend in August in 1990. However no one missed boating, not even us. Friday night the rehearsal party was at our dock on Lake St Clair, the Saturday wedding was not till 6 PM and Ian and his buddies took the out of towner's out on the lake, Sunday our boat was on the wall at Metro Beach where we had a barbecue for friends and family. The wedding itself was still a formal affair, we just jammed in a lot of boating stuff the rest of the weekend, we even took our honeymoon in Dec. did not need to go anywhere in August. A few years after that we had a run on Saturday daytime summer weddings, we were invited to like 5, we only made it to the ones we were closest to. Graduation parties are happening now, fortunately for us they are all on our small lake and we only go if we planned on being in town, we send money either way so no one seems to care that much if we are a no show, but weddings are a bit different.

Elizabeth that's a very cute picture. One of these days I have to get one of Kirby and Ian, Kirby sleeps between us and usually shares Ian's pillow. I will often wake up and watch the two of them sleeping in identical positions:biggrinjester: If Ian is sick or snoring he will sometimes sleep in the other room, Kirby hates that, while he will not sleep in the other room with him, he will also not sleep near the center, he goes to the foot of the bed and sleeps in the opposite corner from me, it's almost like a protest:)

Rob's mom is coming up this afternoon to spend the night, which she does a few times a year. He's an only child, they live 1.5 hours away and she knows in the summer if she doesn't come up she doesn't see us. :sifone:

Boating friends of ours are leaving this evening for Croatia. He found out last week his dad has cancer, then received a call Sunday that he'd taken a turn for the worst. They will be gone for two weeks. We are taking them to the airport and taking care of the cat, plants and lawn until they return July 5th. They are our best friends and we'll be lost without them, but we hope the best for his dad.

Thursday will be spent getting the boat ready for our weekend in the islands. Looks like it will be a great weekend as far as the weather goes.

Yes Brian we are, it's to much for us to leave in the morning if we want to get there early so we are leaving here around 4 on Friday and putting in at Monroe. We plan to overnight in the MBC (if they let us) then head over to the Hole are 10:30. I told Vicky Powel we would help them set up. I guess we plan on spending Sat. night there. I hope I can take it, I like being attached to a dock with shore power, anchoring or beaching is not my favorite. But if we are there all day Ian will not be in any condition to drive the boat back to the club. When are you going???

Tracy get you mind out of the gutter :sifone:, The hot hole is in MI on Lake Erie. The water in that area is used as a cooling area for a Detroit Edison Plant, Brian probably knows more about it. The water gets very warm, I hear the water quality is safe (I hope:) it a popular place to anchor and swim and there is a beach.
