Bad Neighbor

I have a neighbor that is being a real pain in the butt.
since I bought my house he has told me that my driveway is 1 ft on his property for about 60 ft.
The cable box, phone box and power transformer are 6 ft off my driveway.
I told him the property line was in the middle of them. He said no.
( There is no argueing with a true idiot)
I have since had two surveys done and he has paid for one of his own because he didn't believe mine.
To make a long story short he has come on my property twice to yell at me and both times he threatened me. ( the last time I physically chased him off my property)
Tonight he called the cops on me because he saw me walking on my property with my pellet gun ( problem with chipmunks)

OK what can I buy that will stink like H E L L. I need to be able to get it at a hunting store.

I can't trespass on his property but my driveway is 15 ft from his bedroom window.

I live in the country, we have motocross track on part of our property, most of the neighbors hate us, except the one that has kids. They haven't been able to do anything about it because it's for pleasure and my kids. The funny thing is I don't care what other people do on their own property,plow their yard, run their john deer gator cut the grass have parties, but they want to tell you what you can do, because they can't do what we do. They complain about noise or dust and Ihave a farmers field across the street with 7 foot corn. We are in farming area some of the people act like we live with a HOA.

There is always one a-hole I swear. I lived in the city from 1990 to 1999,houses 50-75 feet apart. I ran a transmission repair/auto repair business at my house and guess what,my neighbors NEVER had a complaint or a problem with me. I move out in the middle of absolutely no-where,houses are a 1/2 mile apart minimum,real rural area,zoning actually allows me to legally run my business from my property. There is a 75 year old mthrfkr that lives 3/4's of a mile down the road,if we have a bonfire,play stereo at night in back yard or do ANYTHING he doesn't approve of,he calls the cops or wants to come down and threaten me. One night we were sitting around the firepit having a few beers,the old codger comes pulling in my driveway,gets out just furious-tells us we have to go to bed because we should be in church tomorrow. I ask him if he can actually hear the stereo at his house or if anything we are doing can be heard at his house because we will take it down a notch IF it's actually a real problem. He just keeps getting madder and madder screaming at me,I finally tell him to FUUK off and to get off my property. After he leaves we walk down the road in the dark to his property line to see if you could hear my stereo at his house,you really could just barely hear it,I don' know how he could have possibly heard it in his house as it was about 40 degrees out and he had his doors and windows shut. You could ,HOWEVER,see the flicker of the bonfire if you looked hard enough. The fact that we were up after dark and we were having fun just pizzes this old guy off to no end, the only thing keeping him awake was the fact someone was having fun and that he wasn't! He tried getting me in trouble with the township,they told me just to ignore ANYTHING he said and continue to do what I please since we really don't even have zoning or ordinance here that covers anything he was complaining about and he has been the biggest complainer they have ever seen. I can only imagine having ass hat neighbors living in close proximity to me where they could actually bitzh to someone that would do something,Smitty

Wave. Smile. Be as fake nice as you can be. It will drive him crazy. Some people just love to argue and fight. When they can't get a rise out of you it'll drive him nuts.

I agree. But while you're doing everything to make them pizzed. Check all your zoning laws. When you can mow, make noise, tune up cars, etc. There will be strict laws on those, make sure you push it to the limits so they report you over and over until they are completely ignored. Then you got them.


Always be nice. Remember Swazey in the bouncer movie.... Be nice......

I am schmoozing my neighbors like crazy because the boat has sat there so long. My neighbor poured a concrete pad and set his camper on it. He came over to ask if I was bothered by his "nuisance."

I said "I can't see your nuisance because my nuisance is blocking it."

He said that the other neighbor complained (to him) said that it was illegal and I said that he was probably jealous of the concrete pad because I sure the heck was.

Glad I live where I do. My neighor 500 yds to one side is about 90 yrs old and is tickled ****less when anyone stops to talk to him. The neibhor across the road is a boater who has unilimited acces to my dirt and stone piles. Its the least I can do for the amount of noise that comes from my property all hours of the day and night.

As was mentioned above just be nice to the guy, even if it is an act. That will **** him off way more than arguing.

Usually people aren't really that bent about a neighbor/fence/boat whatever but rather they are miserable about something else (spouse, work, kids etc) and choose to vent on the neighbor/fence/boat issue. I had a neighbor (ex-Philly Cop) that happened to work for the builder that built my house. He was the block captain know-it-all from day one. Well I went to put my pool in and the survey/property didn't agree. I was short 5 feet of property. Turns out he misread a street pin and planted his hedge 5 feet on my property. Things got really heated for about a year, the pool got put it, etc. then he got divorced. Years later I saw him out at a restaurant, he apologized and said his behavior was really a result of the impending divorce and he was pizzed off about everything back then. He bought me a beer and has been cool ever since.......

At my previous house the family that lived behind us was a pain. One evening after ddark I was outside lighting the grille and the guy came over and told me to turn the yard light off. I told him I would as soon as I got the grille lit.
He proceeded to rip into me for all sorts of things as his wife stood besides him. Finally I looked at both of them and said " you both need to get laid". Never heard from them again.
