Chicks, Chips & Boats

Damn. Two hours spent demo'n engines to a customer and he informs me that he's gonna look for them on ebay:boxing_smiley: Grrrrrrrr

I never get that. Then, when he buys it for less there but ads the shipping, he'll pay about $2 less and want you to have the parts, and skill, to fix it when something goes wrong....

Then again. Since I've decided to leave the boat in storage for the summer, I may just have some time to Ho

:( I'd rather see my hour meter go up than my post meter

Grrr- I've told you this before but never got the pic. There is a sign at a local gun shop that says their guys are highly trained, etc and not to pick their brains to go save a few bucks on ebay. They are a little higher but you pay for quality- I can tell you I went in to get some fishing pole knowledge. I was impressed and guilted enough to drop $1200 on fishing poles vs $1K less than a mile down the road at Sports Authority. That was 2 years ago- rod have never been wet yet... LOL! I hate impuse buying

lol....get that all the time. "I bought this on ebay, or an online store, etc....it's not working right. Can you take care of the warranty for me?" or like yesterday, they want your knowledge to make an informed purchase....just not from you. There's no loyalty in retail.:(

Unfortunately, ya shoot yourself in the foot if you "offend" the customer. Damn...retail has turned me into a whore.

I see that mindset quite a bit too. When one of my prospects wants to furnish their own materials or fixtures, there's a limit to how far I'll let that go, and then will usually require them to sign an indemnification clause stating we're not responsible for the warranty if something goes wrong with the product they supplied. Funny how many of them we never hear from again because they don't like that idea.

That stuff happens with hair too. They want to know how to get the green out of their hair, without having to pay. I tell those people "any red dye will work......"
