It's a beautiful little island at the mouth of Tampa Bay. It's surrounded by some of the finest crystal clear water on the gulf side. There are some deep holes around the island and the fish run thick. It's the site of an old Spanish Fort, and later (in the early-to-mid 20th century it was a Coast Guard base). There's a cool, old lighthouse on it that still serves to mark the entrance into Tampa Bay to this day. You can tour the island and check out the old fort, etc. It's really nice. I've regularly been visited by sea turtles and dolphins while anchored off the coast.
