You may get lucky. The last two times I went, I got selected for the jury, heard part of the case, then they came to a plea agreement before it got to the end, but because I'd already heard a case, I automatically couldn't asked to go to jury duty for a year. That's twice in 35 years I've been selected.
Actually, being a juror is the most powerful position in our legal system.
Btw, my cousin is a lawyer, and he told me if a case came to trial, you can bet the defendant is guilty.
