I dont think it hurt too bad, looking at the pik, you notice how smooth the sand is and where the foot prints start? looks like he beached it to party and the tide went out...

Look at the drives. I guess this happened on the way to the SCOPE poker run 07. Heavy fog, ran aground. Just sucks to see such a nice boat on the beach like that...But yea, you're right. Clean out the strainers, check the drives, call it a day. Probably not even any damage to the hull:sifone:
What pier is that in the background Newport???? He's lucky its calm or the break would kill it normally that area is anywhere from 2-3 and up....usually up!!!!!

Looks kind of like Seal Beach or Newport, but hard to tell from the glare. I don't see any oil islands so that leads me to believe that it's Newport except that the water is so flat.
On further review, Newport and Balboa don't have the life guard tower...
Naaawwwhh. Looks like a typical overnight stay. A few drinks.. a few hours... a few feet of water.. tide... and you'r staying for the night. Been there.. done that.:03:
And this is different how than those here that regularly beach their boats on sandbars like at Havasu?? If the tide went out, it just settled down, unlike those who drive onto the sandbars. Tons of pics out there with all these high dollar boats with fancy paint jobs driven up on the sand(paper)

A) the guy ran aground at speed....Didn't "beach it" on purpose.
B) when beaching at Havasu you bring your drives up so the drives aren't touching the ground. With the gradual slope of the sand bar being what it is the deep V keeps you stationary.
C) Although a dock would be the first choice, in places like Havasu and Key West, the sand is silty smooth. Not rough like beach sand. Though it's still sand it doesn't rough the bottom of the boat up like sand paper.
Beaching boat to party = Good
Beaching boat at speed in the ocean with waves and corse sand and drives down =Bad
