Presidential Address to Congress

Imagine the nightmares of those that cling to the falsehood that the last eight years were great. They need to clap for something.

He's a great delivery man of a prepared speech.
Ask him to speak on his own and all you get is "Uhh, Ummm, Uhh, Ummm"

I'm still hoping O can pull it off (admitedly I have very little confidence in this), but that Biden scares the hell out of me. I just don't like the looks of the guy - I don't like (trust) his smile.
Scares me.

Just wait for the Republican response. They are not going be happy about the blame he keeps casting, and they certainley were not clapping about that.

I agree that the casting blame thing seemed to be very disrespectful and blameful. Not exactly the way to cross the party lines.
I still try to feel confidence - man, I try to...

You have to give him A for effort.

A daunting task for anyone ...Democrat or Republican

I wish him the best for everyones sake.

I can't imagine anyone dare cast any blame for what was the most magnificent display of financial prowess ever displayed, and for eight years straight. How dare anybody?

When I screw up, I admit it. I demand they do as well.

Agreed.
800 BILLION - and we have no idea where it's going, and didn't have time to read it??
who screwed up now?

If his plan works he will be a hero....if it doesn't he will make Bush look like a penny pincher

But when you speak of the deficit you inherited, then double it in a month it appears a bit hypocritical don't you think?

Beyond the war there were certainley many other areas the Dems could have spoken out about...where were they then? And when they thwarted Repubs attempts to regulate Fannie, Freddie and the banks, yet blame Bush for deregualtion...more hypocrisy.

Bottom line is that this deficit sh!t has got to stop.

Your comments ring a familiar tone for me, I made this same comment several years ago. just change the names O for W and Biden for Cheney.

Can't hide it. i never liked W or Cheney. I so badly wanted McCain in 2000 and shudder to think how much better off we would've been if he had won the nomination and election. But you can't change the past.

Well, then you better line up the whole Dem congress that had control and oversight for the last 2 years when things really started to take a crap. Or you could roll out Bill C that expanded questionable lending through the threat of lawsuit and Fed intervention. Yup, there is a lot of blame to go around, let's spread evenly there Steve. Now the difference is the next 2-4 years are all on the big D. So far they have pooched this economic situation ROYALLY. At the rate we are going it will take the next 4 years just to fix what these dullards have done in a month. Let's see where we stand in 6 months, at this rate the Dow will be in down to 1952 levels, unemployment will be at 20%, and inflation will be out of control, oh yeah, just like the Carter era.....

Even Fox News is beating up on Jindal's delivery. I don't think he did to well. Can someone dust of Newtie and get us some right wing leadership?

There is no question, things continued down a bad path while they were in powser for two years. It was obvious posturing to take over teh senate and white house based on americans dislike for the course we were on. They did a masterful job of playing it off as all Bush's fault while passing spending bills and legislation. They appeared bullied and claimed you had to elect them a super majority to avoid continuing the disaster. Imagine if the tables were turned. republicans could've used a one-man majority to flatten the dems.

your witnessing history, the MOST expensive F-UP in the history of the world...the collapse of the soviet union was probably cheaper and had better results

Hear of the Boston Tea Party?

There is going to be a St. Louis Tea Party Friday morning near the Arch on the riverfront to protest the needless spending in the stimulus bill. Many people are just plain pizzed off about it.

Maybe it is just me but for him to cry about the deficeit that he was handed. The one that took over 100 years to make. He blames the republicans for, yet he doubles it in 30 days. It amazes me how few people will call him out on the table for this. His fallowers just can not open their eyes.

I was thinking the same thing. I guess someone smart than I figured out that if they put a middle aged white dude up there everyone would turn the TV off so went with this guy because he was the only non-middle aged white guy in the party.

Joking about that; don't know if the Repub's had a bench to choose from or not but not joking about that is why I think Jindal did the response.
