If only people had the time to read about the subjects and the actions, rather than just pick up on clips in the paper or their favorite news show. Pundits have made careers out of taking advantage of this situation, and have succeeded thus far. Jindal and Palin have been thrust into the mix by a party that was desperate for some new faces. It's worked for a bit, and will stick for some. We already have people viewing those two as running mates next time around, and nobody really knows anything about them.

Now's a pretty good time to do some real reading and checking, since both parties are ripe for real change. There are many good articles being written about what has happened this decade, and why. There are names, dates, places, and actual facts being written about. Don't let political pundits and partisan whackos dictate your knowledge of important subjects. They are there to make millions, and they'll do it anyway they can. I don't know about you guys, but I have no personal interest in spewing BS about Obama, nor any interest in praising him. Jindal seems to be maybe ok, Palin I wouldn't hire as a secretary (well maybe for that job). Just deal with things as they come up, and the more "Hey, that's not even true" remarks people make, the less BS we are surrounded with.

I agree about the pundits picking a phrase. Palin is still learning her way through the mass media, she will be fine once she masters how to deal with reporters questions and not get so tongue tied. I see more and more people leaning towards Mitt Romney and his vast business and gubernatorial expertise, I would look for him to make a move in 2 years toward being elected, if he gives sound advice and it proves correct, he would be tough to beat. He is also a good speaker, and a good looking guy that would bring the "look" of youth back to the office like Obama has.

And, if the arepublican party can release it's grip on Christianity, he might haqve a chance of leading the party. But if they remain bigoted and continue to reject most other religions, they have no chance in 4 years.

I'm sorry, but Palin is just a soccer mom trying to run the league. She is only concerned with the power and prestige, not the responsibility. She will be the death of Republican party if nominated. Many people already understand that. they just want her to 'rally the troops', not actually lead. She's an embarrassment and should climb back into the closet and on top of Joe the Jack-a$$. My comments will only seem harsh to the lemmings of the party, not the informed.

I disagree there, she is a doer, she kicked alaska back to prosperity. She just isn't as polished a speaker in interviews, that most people are looking for. Look at GWB, for all he did people made fun of the way he talked. Obama is just a speaker, when he has a prepared speech, I don't think that he is as quick on his feet and that's why they try to have him doing prepared speeches, not town hall.

Today they announced that maybe they will be looking for people under the 250 bracket. The new mark is looking like 209 I think it was. Next week it will be 150 then hello middle class. We are so screwed

Did I watch the President Obama spendfest speach....No, I was to busy trying to drum up more work for my company meeting with some companies down in KC this week...

I have no interest in listening to all of the expansion of the social programs, increased taxes and overall "Doom & Gloom" talk... It's easy to see that they have no clue what to do and see this as an opportunity to expand their liberal agenda and government on the backs of mainly small businesses...

Being a small business owner with 45+ employees these additional costs are very troubling to say the least and if they turn our profitable company into something that is just a vehicle to pay employees we will either sell or ramp it down to a much smaller scale...

Actually, she didn't MAKE it more profitable, their revenues from oil with sky-highh prices brought the prosperity. She HAPPENED to be in office. Just watch how the state revenues decline and she has to either raise taxes or raid state trust funds like the other states.

For the love of God, will somebody kick the religious hacks aside and put adults in charge of the Republican party, PLEASE! I cannot believe Reps sold their souls to the Devil (in a preacher's clothing) and now we have a government enlarged by radical neo-cons and immense by liberals.

the way the pendulum has been swinging back and fourth, in ever increasing fashion 4 years from now we will have a new republican president, major tax beaks for anyone with job and the right to keep and bear arms will be be increased to include nuclear weapons for home defense (though you will probably have to register anything over 5 kilotons), now what really scares me is how far to the left it will swing after that (anyone making over min. wage will be in the 50% tax bracket, anyone making the equivalent of 10X the min wage will be in the 75% tax bracket. the min wage will be increased to $20 an hour, health care will be free, but if you make over 100k you will see a 12.5% deduction labeled "AEHI" American's equal health care initiative, all guns will be confiscated with the exception of daisy red rider BB guns, those will have to be registered with the batf though, along with the owners fingerprints and DNA sample. Home ownership will still be a right, but to control the effects of home price manipulation (so that every American can afford a home , working or not) you will have to file with the AHC (American home committee) who will then provide you with the price you must sell your home for. (if there determination of your homes value falls below a certain threshold, you must give your home free and clear to the single unemployed mother on the list... but you will be able to take a tax deduction of 50% o the homes value as determined by the AHC. Gasoline tax will be increased by $4.75 a gallon, this is an environmental fee, the money collected will go to purchase electric vehicles for those who cannot afford a traditional gasoline powered vehicle, thus being a 'green' policy....

how you get the nerve to bash sarah palin when this complete joke is now president is beyond me. sarah palin is a fiscally responsible conservative governor of a state that is one of the few states that has put aside money for a rainy day instead of spending like crazy. She is now trimming the state budget due to lower revenue from oil even though the state has over 6 billion dollars in surplus. california could learn a thing or two from her.

In fairness, i should not have used the word Christianity. I should have said 'the religious right'. My apologies.

Let's face the facts. I think Palin is a little hottie too. But, like Jeb Bush in my state, when the revenues were pouring in from property taxes, we did sock money away. But now that the revenues are shrinking, they are raiding the trust funds. Palin was the beneficiary of oil revenues, not property taxes. So she is in the same boat. But let's not give her too much credit. Everyone has a chance of catching the Hail Mary pass and being a hero. it's the receiver who constantly catches the clutch pass that you enshrine.

State legislatures make fiscal policy. Governors ratify and execute. Just as we cannot give Clinton credit for balancing the budget, let's not be hypocritical and say Sarah did.
