Good morning . Pulled the headliner out of the ‘88 Checkmate yesterday, yuk. Not putting one back in but will get in there with some sorta grinder wheel and cleanup-up the old glue residue. It’s gonna be a messy ordeal.
I was counting on the Neil Sedaka tour to pay for these drums. Oh well.
I checked, the original drummer for April Wine is 86. His replacement is 68. Maybe he has a bad heart. I should learn those songs just in case.
What's funny is everybody on tour in the old bands is pretty much replacement players. For the first time ever, you could pick up the bass on a Tuesday and play two sets with the fifth iteration of Foreigner on Friday in Des Moines. It was already getting that way in the 90s. Now it is even worse. The list of players for some of these bands over the years is like fifty guys.
April Wine is 17 past or current members. Interestingly, actor Steven Segal was in the band for a while. Bass player I assume.
