wtf is this??

Are those I/O's Volvo or OMC??
Trimmed that high, I'm guessing OMC.
Pull the I/O's up, and only drop them when you need them.
The rig looks badazz.
You would get a helluva lot of gawkers on that boat.
It could even gain more noteriety than tri-maran.
 
Looks like there is a Merc sticker on the top of the gimbles. But I have never seen drives like that before.
 
I think those are electric trolling motors welded in. It looks like the original idea was to make it a fishing boat.
 
some crazy azz ex-navy old man tried rerigging it with stern drives then plugs the gimbles with electric trolling drives before he died?? im confused...

He wanted a fishing boat, he rigged with inboards, added the electric trolling motors seen in the pic, keep them up when not in use, then drop them when trolling, goofy but thats what I get out of the description.
 
I'd pay 50 bucks for the pleasure of using it for target practice for a day, then tossing a match in it and putting it out of it's misery.. We could roast hotdogs and s'mores over it..
 
no doubt it's strong as hell - and interesting from that perspective; but she's been rode very hard and put away very wet
 
This could have been a Navy one of boat, with electric motors for insurgent silent running, ?? Back in 1991 when our team was racing the OPT tour, the Navy Seals used there boats as pace boats for the San Diego race. They had some strange stuff, this could be one of them. Even Pete at Skater was building strange Navy patrol boats back then at the time we were having our Skater built, around 1990.
 
no doubt the military etc. are really hard on stuff.. speaking of san diego in the early 90's, there was an off shore shop off of Arjon's (miramar) that always had a couple funky looking boats (beaks I think), they said they belonged to customs and the customs guys who ran them were nut, they never pulled the sticks back and constantly tore up the motors and drives. I know the border patrol was running full size Bronco's and the agents were tearing them up to, so they put suspension kits on them, so the agents just drove them faster and still tore them up. Military, BP etc are all young, what..18~25? they wantto have fun, they dont pay the bills for breaking stuff...why be nice to it??

Man, how awesome would it be to be 18 years old and handed the keys to an offshore boat with no responsability as far as breaking stuff goes... I'd be dead. Yeee-haw!
