Work!!

Some really good points Frank. And I believe you are correct that Steve M has the best possible solution. I know Wil has one in Bucanneer, Steve has one in SunPrint, Jim is talking about putting one in Octane. I'm not sure who else is currently using a Data Log system.

George also has done a lot of research on the systems with Steve.

I'm not exactly sure how you catch the possible blatant cheaters without requiring the stock box though. The threat of a ECM change, and the actual draw straws and do two or three a race, is the only thing I can think of that makes the rest of the internal modifications almost moot (I think).

What you are describing is one of the things which caused the demise of the F1 and F2 classes. Not the only thing, but one of the key ones.

It doesnt real matter what motor it is or how many RPMs it is, its about being able to tech so it is a even playing field for all of us. We cant have rules in place for things that we cant tech, what where the run away train starts.

With data logging you are policing engine's and viewing the whole boat and crew's performance. If someone makes a good or bad prop choice it can lead to parity changes for the guy simply making good choices. By viewing RPM, speed, acceleration, corner speed and evaluating performance in the rough and calm sections of the course you have a much greater view of why some boats are running better than others, when compared to just looking at a lap.

Wil does not have one in Bucaneer. hes got a smartcraft. not the same as a data logger

I thought it was a datalogger, oops..... (I didn't get to drive it in Biloxi like planned).

Plus they got to hang with Randy Travis......:)

Paul,

We even got his autograph!!!

I believe the answer is simple. Steve's idea is the only way to police the engines!! The question is will the Sacionting bodies use the technology and inforce the rules. I for one will order mine as long as we have a commitment either from the class to police itself and be allowed to do so by the org. or the org police the data. Either way I am in. With the different rule packages now out there, it is the only way I can see to be able to race together.

Maybe Stve K can approach SBI to see what their idea on the matter would be.

Back to the "Work" portion.

Heard about the bad luck and another team stepping in to assist. Sweet:hurray:.....

Sure looks good.
