Winterizing

So I finally got around to finishing my winterizing my 502 Mag MPI. This is the first time doing it myself, so I trying to make sure I get it right. A few weeks ago I warmed the engine, changed the oil, filters and gear lube. Today I drained the block, manifolds and fuel cooler of water. I connected a remote tank of a mix of two cycle oil, Sta-bil and gas (per Mercs directions) to the fuel inlet. I was going to run seven gallons of the pink anti-freeze through the sea pump inlet. I tried to remove the t-stat to make sure the antifreeze was going in the engine and not out the exhaust, but I couldn't get the fugger out of the housing. I decided to run the engine and did get seven gallons into the system, so I thought. I think most of the antifreeze went right out the exhaust and I'm not sure how much made it into the engine. I popped off the t-stat housing and the intake was still dry. But when I cracked the lower water pump hose, some of the antifreeze was there.

Should I just remove the stat housing and fill the block the rest of the way with antifreeze? Or completely remove the stat and start over?

You can remove the top of the C hose and fill the block there. That way you don't need to be messing with gaskets.
