When I was a kid we had a pair of pet swans for a couple years, the female was like a guard dog, more than a few unsuspecting visitors got some rough treatment, lol
My daughter and I were chased by a very large, angry and determined Swan last summer while jetskiing, we finally outran him, in the canal. If worst came to worst, He would of had my Kung-Fu grip around his neck while being held underwater, *****.:boxing_smiley:
I grew up in a town that had a nice little lake in the very center. They had several swans that lived there. People that didn't know better always liked messing with the swans. The swans always won.
They act just like that goose- calm and quiet. Then all at once they explode. You can mess with them all you want and they ignore you- right up until the second they get pi$$ed. and a swan is about 4 or 5 times the weight of a goose. At least these well-fed SOB's were.
I was impressed with the guy being able to stand up in a kayak- a task I sometimes find challenging on solid ground.
Just grab'em by the neck and ring 'em. Then roate the bird onto its back placing both thumbs firmly on the breast plate; push down and out exposing the breast meat; using a sharp knife fillet the breat right out; rinse and repeat.
As a kid I had a goose chase me on the fly while I was riding a quad. My neighbor was actually tackled to the ground by a flying goose once while walking around his pond.
Needless to say around here we dont have much of a tolerance for the bastards. They are nothing but groundhogs with wings.
