Why do you boat?

What better way to spend a hot summer day? Or a cold spring or fall afternoon for that matter?

I've been going nuts the last two years being out of commission and not being able to just take off for the day and hit the lake. I've had access to other peoples boats, but its not the same.

April can't come fast enough.

Got my first boat at about 14. Started my twins boating at 6 weeks old. They are going on 19, they want there own boat. Told them they have to have some money in bank before I turned them loose. They had no idea how much it cost to keep up with owning a boat. They are waiting for now.

I guarantee that there is somthing called a "boaters high". If not then I am coining that term now as you read this. Way better than a runners high where endorphines are realesed causing a mild state of euphoria. I think all of us become chemiclly imbalanced when we are about to go boating, while crusing across the water and just looking at boats. Plain and simple we are addicted to all of the aspects of boating.

I don't know about chemically imbalanced, but I have been known to have an alcohol imbalance around boats/boaters:p

I just love the feeling of being on the water and having the freedom to do what you want. Run balls out, idle for 5 miles, layout on the sunpad, swim ect. I even change the lyrics to songs to make them about boating. The new Kid Rock/Uncle Cracker song "good to be me" pretty much describes the feeling. But you have to change the words "throttles laid down in the open sea....
