Which one for the new Avanti puller/daily driver??

What do you want to do with it when you're not towing the boat? Haul big things or have room to haul more than 5 people?

I went back and forth on the same question when I was truck shopping. (But I was looking at Excursions)
Bought the truck 4 years ago and have never missed having an SUV. Have been glad a few times that I had a pickup though.

You can probably see better out of the pick up , when you back up on the ramp. Plus it will probably have better resale as a work truck.

You could find a better deal than that F150. It's pretty pricey for the year. You can find V10 Excursions all over the place for around $6-7k. It's tough to beat them for an occasionally used puller. The V10 has plenty of power and the common maintenance items like injectors and coil packs are pretty cheap in case you end up needing to replace any. 4wd Suburbans are a great choice too. '03-'05's are usually available for around $7k. I've seen a lot of 3/4 tons under $10k too.

If you decide on a pick-up I'd go with a V10 Ford or a 6.0 liter GM. I picked up an '05 3/4 ton extended cab Chevy late last Summer for $7k. The deals pop up...you just have to be ready to grab them.

Wow....there are a TON of tow vehicles for sale this time of year! lol When I was looking last Summer there was hardly anything under $10k worth looking at. Here are a bunch I found around us. I just filtered out the results based on what I'd be willing to go look at. I don't know what you're exact needs are so some of my choices may be off the mark.

Here's the cheap stuff:

And here are the ones I would consider to be very interesting. Some don't specify which engine they have so be sure to check towing capacity.

If you find anything on this side of the state that you want me to take a look at just let me know.

I personally would go with the pickup. A crewcab 4x4 though, not a single or extended cab. They have all the interior room of a car, and the hauling and tow capacity second to none. But, I'd look for the best mileage and also make it the daily driver unless the commute is really long. I have the pickup and the Blazer. The Blazer gets no better mileage than the later model pickups, has less hauling capacity, less towing capacity, and no more room for people.

I'm looking for a Ford 4x4 likes Brook's and gonna get rid of the Chevy and the Blazer.

Im getting tired of looking, moreso, tired of azzhat used car dealers. Seriously thinking of just putting a new trans in the explorer and calling it a day.

Do you have any car dealer friends who go to the main auctions? That's the best way if they can get you in so you can buy where they do.
