Where did this new drive manufacture Go?

I think they priced the drive right out of the market for shiftable drives... There's no way i'd pay $70K for a pair of drives from a start-up company, I'd just go to mercury and get some 6's even if they were more expensive.

I like the design, the idea etc. but not interested in that kinda dinero.

I agree, you can find a pair of 6's with transom assemblies for 45-55 k in the classifieds.

I thought this would be a good upgrade...waited, waited and am still waiting.

I have been recently thumbing through old Powerboat mags from 2000, 2001 -present. Ever notice all the companies that have come and gone. Most claimed a better engine, better drive, better mouse trap. POOF gone.

The last I heard from someone in the know is that they are just finishing the first run of 50 drives. They are all spoken for. The second run of 50 will start immediately after the first is done. The second 50 will be available to the public. The original price was 35K, but now is supposedly 30K. They heard the same thing that Geronimo said, "I'm not paying 70K for a pair of drives that aren't 6's". I can't verify all of the above info, but it came from a pretty reliable source.
