Lazy Days 57' Houseboat Miami to Bimini Race

p108407150.jpg

I restored it and lived aboard for close to 4 years.

Sold it to an owner of a hi-performance shop just before I was to get married.

After a few years he sold it and I have not seen it since.

Pics after I restored it:

That's awesome!
Very cool, and cool that you personally owned her.
I think if I ever get the opportunity to retire, it's going to be houseboat life for me.

I have one that needs to be repainted!

Would love to repaint yellow and black but have my eye on something else. BTW would like to sell instaed of an upcoming trade in where I dont get squat. If your a serious buyer and have funds available send me a message and phone number. No internet pricing sorry.

This was the Gifford Racing 40'. We converted it and use it for pleasure.
Great ride and very strong!

Thinking about selling it less engines and trans and starting a new project/

Still on the west coats?

I've posted this in other sections. But I'll join in here too. Any additional information is appreciated.

1986 Pantera 28. Started out as a twin small block #3 boat orignally owned by Mike Thomas from TNT (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that). It ran the old APBA C class and was "sponsored" by United Racing Engines.

As I understand it, the boat became "Wild Bullet" and had a mural of a Cuban guy with a cigar riding a bullet on the side of it. If anyone has photos or stories please post or PM me.

It ultimately ended up owned by one of Pantera's former employees and was converted to single big block/bravo power and a six man cockpit, but was then derigged and sat for some time. Duunoit bought it from him and rerigged it and finally in a trade deadline beating deal, I ended up with it.

I'm refreshing it now with the intention of running it in P5 with POPRA and also using it for the Catalina ski race.

Any additional photos or info about the boat are always very welcome.

Lookin' good Adam! P3 huh? I see you finally got the JATO installed! :sifone:

Installed.....

Jeff Mathias was the previous owner before me out of Cincinnati OH and he raced it a few times in P3 I believe under the name "Back in Black Racing". I took off the green eyes but decided to leave the race numbers. I have flirted with the idea of putting the old F1-71 back on the boat and will likely do so eventually, possibly as soon as this winter.

Jeff bought the boat from Jo and Pepe after they won the World Championships in Key West with it in 2001. I purchased the boat in the spring of 2008.

Info is correct as far as I know if anyone knows anything else I would love to hear about it.

That's the story I heard... I was just giving you the business about the 95 mph break out in Class 3 and the potential installation of a rocket pack somewhere on the boat! Just razzin' ya bud! :sifone:
