It seems to me that lately a lot of race boats are being semi converted to pleasure, (which is a good thing)
Call this the curious thread, post some pics of race boats that are interesting in you eyes . I'll start with this one Tommy Bahama , where are they now ?

"Special Edition" now belongs to Arnold from NJ but is called "Rolling Thunder Too." He also owns the "Toshiba" 35' Jaguar which he is in the middle of turning into a pleasure boat. Pics are attached.

Was back in NJ for a visit, taking my dad out for dinner, when we ran into Arnold and Dave. Appreciated the drinks they bought us. :cheers2:

They still keeping those boats at the yard on Beaver Dam rd?

I think you're talking about newer boats here, but don't forget to visit the HORBA site. Easy to get lost for hours in there.

All the boats are kept at the marina.

We just got home from Jersey, stayed at Arnold's Bay house for 2 weeks.
Had use of the 35 Cigarette. The Baja cat we usually use had a motor out.

Arnold is my Godfather & David is my brothers godfather.

Lazy Days 57' Houseboat Miami to Bimini Race

p108407150.jpg

I restored it and lived aboard for close to 4 years.

Sold it to an owner of a hi-performance shop just before I was to get married.

After a few years he sold it and I have not seen it since.

Pics after I restored it:

I wonder how often they had water come in through the sliders in that race !:sifone:
keep em comin!:)

That is too cool. I live near the old factory where the Lazy Days were built. Did the houseboat actually enter the race?

It had an emblem on the dashboard right above the helm that it was Miami to ? actually it might have been Nassua? but it stated it was certified... I wish I took a close up pic of it back then....:(

The way the bow rises on it, probably rarely. I ran it out of Manasquan Inlet, NJ up to Cos Cob, Ct through Hells Gate and up the Long Island Sound & back without any trouble...:sifone:

Every time I see the pictures of the old boats I remember walking thru the parking lot of the Kings Grant Inn before the point race. That is probably were the seed got planted.
