crappy few weeks. they told my mom 2 weeks ago they found a tumor on her ovary and she went in for surgery friday at 7am. they started on the FULL hysterectomy, sent a sample to the lap for biopsy...malignent of course (grrrrrrrr). so as they're proceeding with the surgery they find another tumor on the lining of her uterus. now we have to wait for lab results to see if there the same or different. if there different (best case scenario) means stage 3 treatable by chemo...if there the same that means 1 spread to the other then would be stage 4 treatable with radiation

THE PATHOLOGY RESPORT CAME BACK AND THE TUMOR IN THE UTERUS WAS BENIGNE B9 B9 B9 B9 B9 B9 B9 B9 B9 B9.....THANK GOD !!! Mom will have to wait approx 5 weeks while she's recovering from the surgery before she can start chemo for the ovarian cancer... JUST WANTED TO SAY THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE REPLIED TO THIS THREAD, SAID A PRAYER, AND TO THOSE THAT CONTACTED ME AND MY FAMILY !!!!!! THANK YOU TO MY OSO FAMILY

she completed her last chemo treatment about 5 weeks ago. And now this i can see 2009 isnt starting off any better. back in hospital (LEESBURG MEDICAL in FLA) with abdominal pains Jan 2nd, blockage in her bowl, exploratory surgury the 9th, critical care ICU now after removing her colon...cancer is back and her abdomin is loaded...shes on a ventalator will keep you all posted...i flew in last nite

TODAY...
THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR THE THOUGHTS PRAYERS EMAILS TEXTS AND PHONE CALLS. THE VENT IS STILL OUT, SHES BREATHING ON HER OWN, VITALS ARE STABLE AS OF RIGHT NOW. Her ovarian cancer matastisized, and spread to her intestines/colon, nodules on the the kidneys and liver as well as lesions on the walls of the abdomin. Its uncureable..can be possibly slowed but unsure if her body can handle any additional chemo. She also has COPD and has been on oxygen for bout a year and a half which is what caused her issues during the surgery....right now were just hanging tuff and tryin to get an HONEST prognosis. My younger bro, sis and myself all flew down Saturday and are still here. There flying back Saturday and im going to remain here with pops and give him a hand getting all the i's dotted and t's crossed. Mom handled the day to day operations of the household and pops is in a tailspin...THANKS TO YOU ALL AGAIN

Bernie I wish you and your family the best during this hard time. This is not easy as I went through this one year ago. Take care

It's good you are there to help out, being so far away is really hard as our parents get older. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bernie, I have an aunt going through a similar expereince right now with cancer. About a month ago she had a single surgery that removed her gallbladder, spleen, appendix, and several feet of both the large and small intestines along with a complete hysterectomy. This woman is tougher than nails, she has only taken 2 Vicodin (just 2 pain pills) since the surgery.

She went in for her first round of chemo last week and it wiped her out, she completely stopped eating and drinking. She went in for her seccond round of chemo and ended up in the ER before they even started. She is home now and doing better as we are all keeping our fingers crossed.

Your not alone bro, hang in there.:seeya:

Hang in there, never give up. We are praying and rooting for things to improve quickly.
