Sunday morn's after too many Captains we head to this little Mexican food joint that serves an awesome mexican breakfast - then a bloody mary and all is well......
the best remedy is prevention. Before you go to sleep (or pass out as it were ) take a good quality mulitivitimin and a few big glasses of water maybe a few Advil. If i forget that i have a script for Imatrex that i take for migraines that i get everyt so often, just so happens it works awesome on hangover headaches.:ack2:
The forced induction air as well as getting up and doing some thing makes me feel better.
Some times I end up drunk again and have to get a ride home. Sucks going to get the boat the next day hungover the 2nd day in a row... and has meant leaving the boat there again another night some times...
I have had great luck with Powerade. The B complex helps the hangover and it helps rehydrate. I won't do an advil in the morning until I can eat. After an hour of sipping Powerade you can usually graduate to food and pain relief without getting sick.
If I've had TOO much, I force down the equivalent of 3-4 8oz glasses of water, a Gatorade, and 3-4 Advil BEFORE I go to bed. Makes a world of difference in the morning, but you get up and pee about 4 times during the night. (or your really wet in the morning!!!)
PEDIALITE!
I keep one in the freezer all the time.. when it comes time to need it, i toss it in the microwave for a few seconds to get it slushy and then chug it... keeping it down isnt hard, GETTING it down is.. an e-docker taught me that trick and Ive never used anything since!
it absolutely cures a hangover when you toss 800mg of ibuprofen in with it..
The sodium in sports drinks and pedialyte help the cellular absorbsion of water. Pedialyte has less sugar, which would help inhibit GI problems. Powerade has the B complex factor.
I like the pedialyte formulation. A balance of carbs, minerals/sodium and water.
Needs B Complex to be the perfect hangover drink.
