MikeyFIN... Good reminder that you don't have to be from the South, or even from North America to be a Redneck hot-rodder with one hand on a box of mechanical injection pills and one foot in the grave... :sifone:
I grew up first in Yacht Club Estates, then moved to Paradise Island at age 8. Lived there until leaving for college in New Orleans. My father still lives near there and I keep the boat behind his house. We are in South Tampa but plan to buy on the water in Tampa soon.
I love going back to TI. In my youth, I was upset that it never seemed to grow, it was fairly stagnant. Now that development has taken over the beachfront, I'm missing how it used to be.
I hear ya.
I was there 6 yrs ago for my wedding on the beach, and drove by the same apartment joint that I first lived.
I was down there again a year ago, and it's gone.
Development and progress took over. I met up with CigDaze and Mrs. CigDaze on that trip and had a blast at Caddy's.
We were considering a job placement for the wife, and really wanted to move there, but she had a better offer out here in the desert.
Property is/was going so damn cheap there in comparison to what it was.
I think it may just be a market equalization. But still, I really would love to be either there, or back up on Erie.
I'm liking Phoenix, but I'm not sure if it's the last place I'll land.
Knowing me, and history, there is likely to be several more places that I'll land.
Interesting thoughts. I always wanted out of there as a kid Felt like the world was moving fast and TI was slow and dreary. Then, after being away and coming back, it's a fun place to boat.
Didn't you have the thread about making an ice scoop out of a beer box that went SOS viral?

Close.
When I first moved into this place in Tempe, I needed something to clean the ash out of the fireplace from the nightly fires. Still didn't have everything unpacked, and made the beer box scoop for the ash clean-up.
