What is the best SUV/Cross Over?

Anyone have any insight on a Lincoln MKX
I really, really liked it. The wife got one as a loaner when her LS was in for service, so I drove that thing around all day. I was impressed...it may be the replacement for her LS in a couple years.

Your job isn't my problem. Me getting value in the vehicle I purchase IS.

Yet adding BS about not buying "a domestic", with absolutely no reasoning, period, is not helpful.

The fact you are wrong about "getting value" from domestics is another issue I guess. But at a minimum adding that to the statement would have been something more than just making an "import bigot" comment.

Thanks for the input guys. We test drove a Arcadia last night and really liked it. It had plenty of room. We don't want anything small than an Arcadia. Mileage and towing are not major issues for us. I need to get something soon. the tranny is going out of the Tahoe. We looked at the Pilots too. They have alot of plastic inside. not our first choice. What kind of interest rates are out there right now?

I'd recommend checking credit unions, unless GMAC has a deal on that car. I've heard in the 5's at credit unions recently. I got 5.25 back in Oct.

MKX's are real nice. The seats are pretty firm, which is something my mom did not like about them and would actually keep her from buying it. Also, they are considerably smaller than an Acadia. You'd have to wait for the MKT to come out to be the same size. To me, they don't look as nice as the MKX, and I'm not sure if they come without a center console in the second row.

Out of curiosity, how many miles on the Tahoe? The tranny in my Yukon chit the bed at around 55,000 miles. The biggest thing it ever towed was a 16' center console.

Well maybe in 10 or 15 years a domestic manufacturer will have the track record of building a great car or truck and at that point I will not allow myself, subconsiously, to even let the thought of an import enter my mind. So, I'll look forward to those '25 model year SUV's.

Wait, the mfg's will, most likely, be out of business.......

It just turned 87,000 miles. It didn't even have a hitch on it. I also had the tranny serviced at 50,000 miles.

We ened up with a new MKX. The wife fell in love with it and it has as much back seat room as the Tahoe did. My kids say it is mor comfortable too. they like the reclining rear heatd seats alot.

Thanks for all the input Guys

Somehow I had a feeling you'd end up with an MKX after you said you'd be test-driving one this weekend. :) Too cool, congrats!

Got the wife a Sante Fe about 6 months ago. We like it,has plenty of room and awesome warranty.

Guess I was a little late:)

Better late than never right?

Thanks guys it is a awesome car. they also threw in the extended Ford warranty so we are good for 84 mo. 70,000 miles. By then we will be ready to trade again.
