Wife want a new SUV/Cross Over. We have had Chevy Tahoe's for the last 15 years. Now she thinks she wants something a little smaller but not too small. We need something with lots of leg room in the back seat. My son is 6'3". What is everyone driving? She kinda likes the Buick Enclave. I still like the Tahoes. Is it better right now to buy or lease? I have never Leased a car before.

Ford Edge AWD,Taurus AWD,Taurus X AWD,or the new Flex AWD,I have twin 16 year old boys both 6'3",they fit well in any of these cars,no matter what product you buy right now the leasing programs are very poor.

We like the 04 gmc envoy we bought, she loves the automatic awd feature for the rain, I am 6' 4" she is 6'0" we have company down all the time and can fit five adults rather easily.

Lady friend has a GMC Acadia, very nice ride & handling. Power is OK but coupled 2 the six speed tranny it fights & downshifts a little more than I would like. Overall though, quit, good room, & she has the awd version, seems 2 do good in the snow!!! Good luck!! Wrink

Some friends of ours have the Lincoln, Ford Edge, and they just love it. Can't say enough good things about it. I have never ridden it so I can't speak from personal experience.

Can't beat the looks of the Infinity FX. I have not ridden in the backseat, but they are very comfortable in the front.

I have a Lexus GX-470...hands down the best SUV I've ever owned.

They're expensive new, but there are great deals to be had on used ones. (I bought mine used.)

I vote for the GMC Acadia. A friend has one and loves it. I have ridden in it and it is nice! His is loaded with all the bells and whistles...doesn't seem to lack on power to me. Definately isn't a tow vehicle though.

Does anyone have a Chevy Traverse? It looks really nice

They are very nice.

Also, if you want one step smaller the Saturn Vue is very good. The next gen Equinox which comes out this year is very cool, and gets 30 mpg highway, if you are waiting a while.

As for leasing, now is basically the worst time ever to try and lease. Nearly all captive finance arms have cut back on leasing, as they don't have as much to loan (as nobody is lending to them) and leasing is the first thing reduced. Also, residual risk has driven the costs up, so the deals on leases are much more rare than before.

Just put my wife in an Arcadia. As much room in back seat as an Escalade/ Yukon. You still have cargo room with the 3rd seat in use. If gas mileage is important probably not your best choice. (I get around 17-18 in city.) My wife does about 500 miles a month, so i can care less. If you don't need the 3rd seat give the 09 Honda pilot a look. There is a 3rd seat but very small. It has some great room in all the right places. Lease is OK. Not like a year ago, but acceptable. Better off buying the Arcadia/ Enclave.

Thanks for the input guys. We test drove a Arcadia last night and really liked it. It had plenty of room. We don't want anything small than an Arcadia. Mileage and towing are not major issues for us. I need to get something soon. the tranny is going out of the Tahoe. We looked at the Pilots too. They have alot of plastic inside. not our first choice. What kind of interest rates are out there right now?
