Well..........

I'm sure Obama will go apologize to him too. He's apologized to everyone else this week.

Let's face it. Life as we have known it is over.:(

It's going to take alot of years to get back on track after "they" finish pushing all of their agendas through and ramming them down our throats.:cuss::cuss::beatdeadhorse5::willy_nilly:

Former President Fidel Castro is very engaging, very energetic," said caucus Chairwoman Barbara Lee, also a Democrat from California. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Energetic? Engagin? That's news right there.

Their Cigars are good, but not good enough to justify sucking Fidel's dik over.

Are you guys against loosening the embargo because you actually have beef against Castro or just because BO might actually do it?

50 years of withholding our influence doesn't seem to have dented the regime. What do you think would happen if capitalist "tourists" flooded the place with investment? You think the Cubans would say "oh no, I can't take your money, I'm really happy with one loaf of bread per week." As if....bring some new money down there and I bet the commies get thrown out within a year.

The Cubans here in south Florida b!tch about this all the time. Funny how so few of them actually put their MONEY where their mouth is and go down there and do something about it. The Cubans in Dade County make more money than all of Cuba's GDP...yet they won't take their county back.

Am I the only one who sees the ignorant hypocrisy of the idea that we're scared sh!tless of the Russians taking a foothold in the Caribbean, but we won't let our capitalist influence take over the culture and beat down the commies?

I'd love to be able to visit Cuba and have it returned to the haydays of the '50s. My grandparents used to go there and party. They used to have Formula 1 Grand Prix races there. Could you imagine the offshore racing opportunities that could be had? The place is absolutely beautiful.

You guys are all arrogant, dismissive Americans and you should be ashamed of yourselves. It must be true, our Commander in Chief says so.

What does that tell you when the gross GDP of the Cubans in S Fla is more than the country of Cuba? It tells me that communism doesn't work, and never will.

If you don't think that Russia wants bases in Cuba, pull your head out of the sand. Russia's aim is world domination, it always has been, and it will always be.

You can wish it was like Grandma's Cuba, but you can wish in one hand, and chit in the other, and see which gets filled first.

We'll have to fight the Russian's sooner or later, or capitulate. At this rate, will have no choice but to capitulate. Appesement never has, and never will work. The only thing a bully understands, is a badder bully.
There was a time when Uncle Sam's Mean Green Killing Machine was the baddest on the planet. You may not believe that, but it kept a lot of people from dying all over the world.
If you can't get you heart in THIS country, then please get your azz out.

I'd nuke all of Cuba to save one American life.

Joe, I'm sure you're *****ing just to ***** and that wasn't directed at me. Because if it is, you didn't read what I wrote....you certainly didn't get my point.

The embargo prevents us from taking the place over, from a capitalistic point of view. If Americans were allowed to go down and spend money, they'd eventually take over just like the Cubans have done to south Florida. No need for nukes, no need for John Candy (movie..anyone? :D) If Cuba gets support from us, they don't need the Russians and they don't need that nutbag Chavez. What exactly have we accomplished with the embargo?

How many times have you posted the thought of capitulation in the last few weeks? You seem to be pushing that idea more than anyone else.

And I seriously hope you aren't questioning MY LOYALTY to the United States of America. Way too many years of service over generations for that to ever be a question.

Actually, currently it is the Chinese who are assisting the Cubans with oil drilling off their shores, possibly slant drilling out below US waters.

The difference to me is, communism fails without capitalistic support so Cuba, as a country capable of supporting its own people, has failed. No support from anyone except a couple of other communist/socialist countries.

On the other hand China had failed and could not support its own people. Then some dumb-azz President gave them Most Favored Trading Status. Now it is a very successful (relative) Communist country which is playing in our backyards all over the world. So,.......

which approach is better in the long run????

I really couldn't get beyond the phrase "slant drilling." :blush5:

You ought to be a politician.

A politician is an animal which can sit on a fence and yet keep both ears to the ground.

I think that is exactly what would happen. I just don't get wanting to **** off and hate every country out there.

It's not showing weakness to emply diplomacy, it's smart!
