Wow. How the hell that fugly thing ever got off the ground is a mystery to me. :confused:

Nobody will ever accuse the Russians of being leaders in the style department. :)

They didn't have a monopoly on weird planes, tho... here's a British contribution. Would love to see this thing next to the Spruce Goose. :sifone:

They're all "artist's interpretations".

Jay's is callen an Ekranoplane. it's more of a ship. max altitude is 5 meters. It was a surface-effect ship. Designed to skim across the water on compression lift generated by the wing's proximity to the water surface.
 
Imagine the Red Bird shooting those battleship guns on the top- wonder if it would do a back flip?

I see a bunch of puller engines and some pushers too. Jeeez, how many engines does that thing have? Gotta be a gauge cluster phuck for the flight engineer.
