Wedding rings

Here we go again....

I need to get a simple wedding band.

I'm not a fan of wearing jewelry plus I work in electronics- metal and things that could get snagged when working around voltages is not a good combination, but after I'm married I'll have to wear it when we go socializing.

I'm trying to keep it fairly simple (read inexpensive) since I'm going to get a fancy watch instead of a bling bling wedding band. Plus if I lose it, not such a big deal.

Yellow Gold?
White gold?
Palladium?
Platinum?
Titanium?
Black Titanium?

or go with some simple diamond type?

Should yellow gold be out of the picture since it won't match my watch?

LMAO. Gold has been out for a while but is making a comeback. Prob will be seeing more of it by this fall. But get something that matches the watch of course

Mark I have been married 13 years........I own a gold ring identical to the first one you posted and I haven't worn it in years. It is simple/classic and since I am not wearing it anyway not real important! I only own one other piece of jewelry (Rolex) and I never wear that either.......but if I do wear jewelry it is always in unison.

Not real hard to break it to the bride IF you do it from day one.....5 years into the marriage if you start not wearing it then you will have trouble for sure. I don't like jewelry of any type, it is just not my thing so I have never worn anything regularly.

Simple gold band.
I never take it off. Never.
sleep with it on, shower with it on... I just never take it off.

That is my plan!

I've never worn jewelry and I've told her from the get-go that I'm not wearing a ring on a regular basis. Of course the womenfolk are telling her that is BS and make him wear it and yadda yadda yadda. If there is one thing for sure, Marky no worky that way! I figure she'll want me to wear it when we go out which is fine and then after a while she'll get tired of reminding me to put it on and then we'll be done with the situation. Then I'll only wear it when I'm dressy enough for the watch and the ring. Making her think she is in charge is easier than flat out telling her she's not!

It won't be an issue if you stick to that plan.......:cheers2:

The women that get excited about this type of drama is not the type you want to be married to anyway!

M&M I am telling you...your excuse will not fly here. There are plenty of guys here, that wear their wedding rings, when they work. And believe you me many of these men, my husband INCLUDED, should not wear their wedding rings when they work....but they still do!

Stop worrying about it, buy one, say I DO and get that party started!

At the risk of sounding like MM (in most of his threads), I agree with Julie on this one.

I take my marriage very seriously, and I really love my wife.
I never take off the wedding band. It's a simple, classic symbol/statement. And it was a huge commitment that I don't take lightly.
I'd feel strange not wearing it.

Julie

Anyone that works with electricity or electronics should never wear a ring. It's a contact hazard and avoidable by not wearing a ring at all.

Sorry for the gross pic.

:iagree:

:iagree:I never take mine off. But when I did electrical work I did not wear it while working.

I take mine off when working around high voltage. Low voltage stuff is a non issue for the most part. When in doubt I take it off. It used to drive me NUTS but I got used to it. Mine is about the same as the one you have pictured next to the watch. If you have fair skin stay with the Gold the silver stuff looks like crap agains white skin.
