Washers and Dryers

Sea-Dated

Our washer crapped out on us last week and the wife is wanting a new set of front loaders. I know there are some newer brands on the market, LG, Samsung, Bosch but I do not now much about them. There seems to be different opinions on all of them depending on who you talk to.

Are any of you guys/gals in the appliance sales/service business and give the real low down and recommendation on a good set of front loader washer/dryer?

Thanks in advance

We have the Lg front loaders and bought them at Home Depot. They have worked well, going on 3 years with no problems. No leaks around the doors.

I'm not in the business, but I did go through this about a year or two ago.

I found a lot of positive opinions on Bosch, which is what we ended up buying. So far so good. No problems, and no complaints from the wife.

I have front loading Maytag. No good. Always used Whirlpool in the past with excellent service life out of them. I too have heard good things about Bosch.

Im wearing this shirt for Robin this weekend, in memory of this thread.
Ohhhhhh the male chauvinist jokes i could be telling ....

How do you add the stuff you forgot at the last minute after it's already started? That's I think the sole reason I could never have front load washers!

You just pause it and open the door. I've never had more than just a few drops of water get on the floor. They are a different style of washer than the "OldSchool" ones that would completely fill up with water. I don't know the exact number, but these new ones use like 1/10th of the water as the old style ones. I think that they call them "he" washers, meaning highly efficient or something like that. There is a special kind of soap that you use as well and it has the "he" symbol on it.

sort of along the lines of "why do brides wear white at weddings??....so the dishwasher matches the stove and fridge.."

Awesome! The f u c ktard who's painting the inside of our house decded to use our washer as a ladder on Friday and caved in the top. So new washer time... Probably have to buy a dryer too, so they match... And then cram the old ones up his ass...
