Warpath!

yeah ... wonder why / who painted it ?

I cant answer the why question but, I beleive I can answer the who. I beleive it was repainted by Paul Zieger a while back before he got into making all the hydraulic parts. He used to own a boat building shop right of of 250 on Rye Beach road in Huron.

Smokey, I originally posted those pics on OSO. If that was the only 41 pleasure that was painted like that then that is the boat! For sure!! It is currently in Sandusky, Ohio. Unfortunately it has been repainted and the front fairing has been taken off, as seen in the second pic. I do miss the old paint job! I thought it was classic. I do have a VHS tape of that boat in a 86' poker run from Sandusky to leamington.
Hope that helps,
Jr,

Isn't that Lenny's boat?

I believe this is the same boat, anyone feel free to chime in? ;) I am more into the race boats, but I have these photos saved in the same file as the new boat photos... I am a fan of the new paint, but this Indian headdress looks pretty cool!

I took those pics....

This boat was originally in Europe and I heard stories it was partially sunk over there at one time. Don't know the original paint scheme though. In recent years (past 7 years) This boat looked like the pictures you posted. It was owned by Jim Neeley in Newport with a pair of 650ish motors (ran low 70s). It was sold to the owner of Savage marine in Lake Havasu Az. the new owner put bigger motors in it pushing the boat to the 90's. He ran it like that for a couple of years and sold it to another guy in Az. That owner only used it a couple of times when one of the motors blew. ****ing match insued with Savage marine on who was responsible and in the mean time the boat was painted and interior was done. The guy that painted it this way was a kid (early 20's) that painted for Kachina boats.

Last time I saw this thing it was up for sale on Ebay around 2007. A buddy almost bought it but after driving 6 hours to go look at it with intentions of buying, he walked away with out it. I don't know if it ever sold....

IMO the kid should have a round or to in the ring to get his head screwed on right... LOL.
I "hate" these paint jobs that looks like a paint stand has fallen over a boat...

You mean you don't like the "Crayola" jobs as I always put it?

This is not meant to offend others but I'm kinda with you on that.

The new paint jobs are just too bright and flashy for me.. It's like someone opened a crayola box and started picking out colors. Plus, they always have to be "touched up" because people who actually use their boats are bound to have a few rubs. ;)

I always like a timeless classic paint-job. If I had to buy a boat today I might go all white or with a solid color. I really liked the Top Gun with the white deck and burgandy sides, I though it was sharp!:driving:

I guess it's all about personal preference though and that's what makes the world go around!.
