Subject: Please Distribute ASAP this is quick and easy

When I voted, nearly 5 million votes had been cast. Take a minute - less than a minute- to vote.

Obama's new Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues.

This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court's accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.

Here's what you need to do:

First - vote on this one.

Second - launch it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published.

The Question is:
"Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?"

Click on the link below and PLEASE vote Yes!

almost 5 million votes. Sort of encouraging.

97% yes.
2% no.
1% undecided.

I am pretty sure that the balance of power between the legislative and judicial branches didn't count on constitutional interpretation falling to american idol style voting though.
:(

The judicial branch has taken over the legislative branch by the way they interpret law. Thathas been my pet peeve about the US government, and it has been for years, and years. I think the American Idol voting is more a true sampling of the American citizens.

"Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?"

It's interesting the way they word the poll. I'm not sure what the point of it really is; it's not so much of an opinion poll, rather a quiz on the interpretation of the 2nd amendment.

"...the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."

The 2nd amendment states: (1)that there does in fact exists a right of the people to keep and bear arms, and (2) that this existing right shall not be infringed.

So, in essence, the correct answer (not opinion) to the poll question is Yes.

3% FAIL!

Holder is probably in on the poll, receiving the IP address for every correct answer. 5 million of us will be getting a visit soon.

Screw USA Today. Join the NRA and actually accomplish something.

Talk is cheap. Clicking on website polls is free but pointless. Membership is $35.

The problem I have with the NRA is once you join, they are constantly dunning you for more money.

Just check the box. They won't.

It's common sense on their part- you may give more, they need the money, it doesn't hurt to ask. If you tell them you'll give what you want, when you want, they'll not waste the (your) money asking.

It may be true now, but it wasn't 20 years ago. I would constantly get phone calls from them.

There was a similar poll around a couple of months ago with the exact same results. I really believe they run this poll and similar ones just to drive traffic to their site.
