Unique 48-Foot Doug Wright-Built V-Bottom Ready for Paint

When I first saw this boat, and showed others the pics, they all said "That's a Dragon" first thing. I explained it's a new design from Doug, new mold-first one out, no other has ever been built.

They still think it's a Dragon.....:banghead:

Paul,
This is a running plug boat right? did DW make a mold for it?
I c looks of signature ,canopy boat, cougar, AT....

That question was interesting, and it started me on a hunt. DW said they "Have the tooling to make more" but he never says that boat is the tool. I am curious now too.
You know anything Paul?

They made molds. This project has been going on for almost 2 years to design and build the tooling first, then build the boat.

And it should run much better than 100. The 478 Skater Vee with 1100's weighs 13,800 dry and it's been to 123 so far.

It looks like they are both directly above the venting horns for the bottom steps. I'm guessing there was too much heat generated by the thicker laminates there and it caused a small warp? I'm sure it will be filled properly in the surface prep stage for painting.......
