Two years of flying round trip twice a month from NYC to Phoenix with connections was a horrible way to exist. Two weeks of hotel living as well. Throw in some other destinations to round out the experience. The only way I got through it was to develop a "whatever" attitude and become mostly brain dead to the whole experience. After being delayed, re-routed, lost luggage, long lines, missing flights due to security, lousy or non-existent food, fat row mates, drunk obnoxious row mates, weather holding patterns, screaming kids, overhead luggage compartment warriors, turbulence over the rockies, long check in lines, holiday or spring break crowds, blah blah blah...nothing surprised me anymore and I couldn't get bothered by it without going postal. I can't believe there aren't more issues with postal travelers because of the hassles of flying. It is truly one of the worst experiences a person can have, there isn't one positive thing about it...nothing. Actually there is one positive, when it's over, that's it.
Haven't been on a plane for 3.5 years now and don't miss it one bit.
