I think to enjoy a true boating experiece at any of these great areas, try to hook up on a date in which they are having one of their annual poker runs as well. That is more of the true boating experience at each location. I know several of the ones mentioned from LOTO, Grand Lake, Chesapeake Bay, all up and down the coast, Havasu, etc, the all are known for at least one "awesome annual poker run". Come and film and witness the real deal. Good luck.
Lake Travis in Austin, TX during any of the 3 summer holidays. Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day
Why? Travis is the #1 recreational lake in the state. Austin has been in the top 10 best places to live the last few years. Texas has THE BEST women. Despite the economy, people are still boating, here.
p.s. when you do decide to come down, bring some rain......we're a bit low right now.
On Friday night, July 3rd Carlos'N Charlie's will have its fireworks show on Lake Travis. I highly recommend you contact them and get some footage of the show.
I will have a "boatload" of hot girls on Saturday and Sunday.
Let me know if you want/need footage of Devil's Cove (the local pary cove).
It is a great family town with alot of things to do by water, The festival is one week long with beer tents, carnival, huge fire works display over the water with hundreds of boats rafted. Hanky Pank cove has two huge parties the weekend of the fireworks. The parties include club dj's playing to hundreds of wild partiers rafted off. The coast guard has several ships on display and they do fake rescue with the helo before the fireworks. They also shut down the channel for a water ski show.
