Trendz Pushrods?

I am not sure I am spelling the name right, Does anyone have a web address or Phone # for Trend(z) (s)?

Anyone else using high end Pushrods like trenz or Manton? I hear they are the best to reduce valvetrain harmonics caused by flexing pushrods.

Not in order of anything, these were all #1 pushrods to use he mentioned

I ended up using Smith Bros, trend didn't have anything on the shelf for me at the time. Manton dealed with more shaft type rocker pushrods.

Manton all the way.. Im in Chicago, Manton is in California... I called, 2 days later they were custom built and at my doorstep. Nobody can beat that service !

Yeah, I am on shafts and maybe that is why Bob Madera recommended Trend.

I hear great stuff about Manton too. Right now I run custom (Austin Racing) 7/16ths tapered but I have dancing retainers. Everything is set up right on the money. I am spinning 6200rpm. Push rods have been suggested as my problem multiple times.

I called Trend at 4:00 PM had custom push rods made not off the shelf and had them by noon the next day, that was 2 weeks ago.

I am running Trend pushrods, or will be tomorrow. They were REALLY quick on the order and the price was right. they Look well made. I think they make pushrods for alot of other companies similar to morel for lifters.

I run Trend pushrods too. $100/set for a nice one piece. They look much like comps high perf pushrod, exact even.

You can buy, Trend from CV Products 3/8 .080 wall, .well stocked in all lenghts. Tell Dan,I sent you. I use Manton, for .120 wall and up, tool steel tips, straight and tapered, He has 5 different stages for use. Best to talk to Terry, if you have a special build, unless you already know what you need.

Trend Performance gave me great service and consulted me on what specific push rod to use for my application. Had no idea that a .135 wall was available for a 3/8 rod. Note: After a change in valve train components, I had to shelve the unused custom rods and go with different lengths. So, if anyone needs a 3/8 with a .135 wall, I can let you know the tip and lenghts. Both intake for exhaust available. BBC stuff.

Just got off the phone with John @ Trend. Custom length, .165 wall, 7/16" diameter with custom restrictor sizing. 36 pushrods (4 spares) 13.50 each.

Hopefully, we'll be saying goodbye to harmonics.:ack2:

Ok, is there a chart online where a cheapskate can determine optimum wall thickness for different cam and spring setups? For example, .632 ex lift(.352 lobe), hyd rllr, 450lb spring rate - what is the minimum wall thickness for 5500rpm?

Good question, But one thing I have learned recently from Bob Madera is that the raw figures don't always tell you how the system will operate in the field. I thought my current pushrods were way overkill and they just aren't resistant to flexing enough. I am running an old Ultradyne grind which makes great power but has a "harsh" profile.:ack2:

Exactly - I just changed a set of stock for CompCams solid pushrods on a mild lift solid lifter cam, and the improvment was remarkable - from idle all the way up. It started me thinking about my beefy new srpings and the "quick ramp" cam...

I presume hollow are to reduce weight, but then there must be a break-even point with solid vs hollow? If you go with say .135 wall thickness on a large dia hollow, wouldn't you be better of with solid of smaller diameter?

I meant for 8. It was about $200 for 16 and I got the .080" wall. $350 for 16 you must have gotten thier super special pushrod :willy_nilly:

I use all Trend pushrods in all our engines. They are located 35 miles from my shop they just about every lenth I need in stock and when I call they have them ready in a half hour with my name custom eched on them now that's service.

No, Hollow pushrods of the same weight would be stiffer.

Do you use 3 piece hollow or solid pushrods in your builds? The Crane 139021 (741 for a Gen V) info recommends chrome moly solids...but I started reading and thinking - problem #1

No, Hollow pushrods of the same weight would be stiffer.

I agree larger diameter rods of the same material would be stiffer, but we're really comparing Aluminum to Chrome Moly as well.

A large dia aluminum rod with pressed in ends vs a smaller dia chrome moly one piece?
