Tinking Out Lood

In the Vancouver airport we have US Customs, so all flights to the USA you have customs and airport security to go through. Takes about an hour and half to do both plus the check in. Its about 4hrs in the airport and another 2hrs in the air for LA. That's average not counting delays. I could be Vancouver to Portland Oregon by that time. Sure its faster and in most cases cheaper to fly. I find driving much more relaxing even at 20hrs drive time.
...and when it comes down to it, Portland OR is a pretty good destination - weird but good

When I was younger we'd drive to Portland for weekends of shopping. Driving to LA once I stopped in Portland, stayed at a hotel near Whole Foods Market and stocked up on sandwiches for the road.

All I know are the 1 star joints:biggrinjester:

I went highway 99 between LA and Sacramento because of road construction on 5. About 1am I was getting tired and decided to stop in Fresno. Group of hotels at an exit. I picked the cleanest looking. Not only a 1 star think they had an hourly rate based on the amount of hookers working the street out front. By far the worse hotel I've stayed in.

One week and you have to go from KW to Maine, from Maine to Toledo, from Toledo to Chicago and then back to KW?

We're two miles from the Ohio turnpike on your way to Chicago and you pass two golf courses on the two mile trip.
If we have time to straighten up the guest room before you leave, you are welcome to use it. I'd take a day off to play golf and drink some beers.
And my boat is up and running. :)

Smart money says he'll make it as far as Jupiter, stop for refreshments, and go snorkeling with the young lass at the fast food mart selling Heineken Light.

Jupiter? I'm guessing he'll get to the 7 mile bridge and think he's in Frisco or something.....
