Those Born 1920-1979....

anybody else wedge model rocket motors in the back of model dragsters and send them down the road??

Well with a large enough rocket motor wheels were not required.

Kind of like... with enough horsepower in a boat, the ablility to float is less important. :D

Though..I do remember my mom asking what happened to my eyebrows...that was right after the first sucessfull gunpowder making experiment..

Of all the crazy things I managed to pull off and not get hurt too bad my gunpowder and army men incident was very fresh in my mind. I was getting ready to mention it when I saw your reply.

Yes, mom asked about my eyebrows too. I can't remember the exact lie I came up with for the answer but I know she bought it.

It's beyond me why dad was dumb enough to keep gunpowder in the house.

Man so many of those are true!! Even the mercury one! Remember playin with it on the garage floor with my dad and him saying "No NOT touch that $hit" But is was born in '82

We literally played with little pools of liquid mercury on the garage floor.

Could explain some things, I suppose. :)

I remember in the eighth grade, my cousin Davey and I, going to the pharmacy to try to buy mercury and magnesium for a science project.

Nobody even bothered to contact Homeland Security.

One thing I learned from childhood: most stuff burns. :D

Heck, I remember the metal wheel skateboards.

Plus, we would jump anything, with anything.
"The creek with Danny's big wheel? Ok."
"The dumpster with Jeff's 5 speed? Sure."
"11 kids lined up in the street end to end with a tricycle? Ok, but can I use the downhill to get some speed?"
"Troy's Mom's garage with a suzuki RM80? You bet!!"

Two fifty Smitty would jump anything on his bike. At the 20 year class reunion, I aske Smitty if he'd jump the pool at the hotel. :)

There were other options on the farm to keep it dry. Never mind the fact that he had a black powder gun.

Maybe he was testing my intelligence?

The difference between black power, and gun powder, is the black powder is an explosive, where gun powder is a propellant!:sifone:
