Please, let's keep the level of discourse more polite. We are all friends here and share a very small world around this insidious habit we all have. The people here arguing about politics are so close in other ways in what they do and how they act than they are to 99% of the rest of the world.

Why are you trying to belittle/sidetrack the subject of this thread? Our country is in serious trouble. Our "representatives" are ignoring the will of the people. Corruption is rampant. We have a lying socialist in the most powerful office in the world. Homeland security is a joke. Al Qaeda has declared war on us and the current administration insist on handling it as a "legal" matter instead of what it really is.
Until now, I have never felt Democracy was in trouble in America. If there was ever a time to get serious and involved it is NOW.
Fund, I am not really trying to give you a hard time. I just think we all should be having a serious discussion about the current state of our country.

Actually Ed that list is very pertinent. Regardless of what Mr. Obama says his intentions are or were, and regardless of how he and the media try to just spin off all these people as inconsequential, he was raised and later influenced by people with very radical ideas and lives. How many communists do you know? Would you sit in a church where the preacher was both a racist and ranted about how America deserves what it gets? Would you go to an admitted terrorist's house for a fundraiser (lunch, high tea, bombmaking)? A person is shaped by who he grew up with and who he associates with, period. And even if NONE of these people had an effect on his life and thinking, how good was his judgment as an adult to hang with some of the people he did?

Both Wright and Farrakhan have made numerous anti-white (racist) and anti-semitic statements. They are also in favor of a "collective" economy (Communist/Marxist/Socialist) among their race that would supposedly give that race more economic power (For Us By Us).
