Hell yes, that was bullchit. The speedway flew in the artist who painted the guitar and before he could he even get in to take a picture that aszwhipe destroys it. And don't give me that chit that, "I wanted to give a piece to everyone on the team." It just goes to show that he thinks he is bigger than the team and bigger than racing. I think everyone would be just fine without him.
Todays race is the Pocono 500 at, you guessed it, Pocono Raceway. Qualifying was washed out, so the starting lineup was determined by points. Smoke had the pole, but he'll have to move to the back after crashing his primary car in practice. That gives the top spot to Gordon.
Coverage starts at 11:30AM central on TNT (no digger )
if you look deeper into it, nothings been proven.....the combination of the two legal drugs he was taking CAN make you fail a goofy and often flawed urine test.....thats what his lawsuit on Nascar is all about......he probably has the means to let the lawsuit run its course and if he wins and sues for loss of potential earnings Nascar will owe him a PILE of $$
will be interesting to see Nascar taken to a REAL court of law and be outside of their own comfortable "kangaroo court".
Man they must be absolutly FURIOUS with Mayfield!!! haha!

true dat- Nascar can be a bit on the silly side with their little empire, but I have trouble believing they would have let this out without being fairly sure of what they got.
It's easy to say, "oh, we took this and this, and it tested as this..."
I think that is bs- this is 2009 and chemical testing technology has advanced a bit in the last few years. (I'm not a csi, but I have stayed at a holiday inn)

On the flip side of that you have to think Mayfield wouldnt go to all the trouble and large expense of taking "King" Nascar to court if HE didnt think he had anything.....
I love Nascar....Hell I even have a Nascar! but personally Id like to see Nascar go down in this one.....it is their sandbox but when you have people devoting their professional lives to your sandbox you better give them every oppourtunity to realistically and openmindedly state their case.....
they remind me of your grade school teacher who is a big tough guy in HIS classroom in front of a bunch of 12 yr olds who have to play by his rules.....
Now how about this case of perenial backmarker and lots of time "go- homer" Carl Long......he blows his his engine in practice Nascar decides to tear his engine down and finds out it is something like 1/750th of a cubic inch too big......fines him $200,000 and 200 owner points!!.....his engine builder says the motor got so hot it fused the head to the block and the bores expanded from the heat and thats where the extra displ came from......Nope, no good from Nascar.....the penalties stand......200 large will more than likely put Carl Long out of Nascar.....they couldnt say, "hey,it WAS just practice and you did just loose a $40,000 engine but were going to be watching you!"......no, no....the penalties stand......as a fan for almost 40yrs Im not liking what Im seeing

This is so sad, I can't beleive that it is happening. I wish every driver team owner would ban togeather on this one and show NASCAR just how F'ed up is by saying hey you wana F with Long and be Azz Hole's how about we don't race on Sunday. Something needs to happen for this poor guy, its just BS
BROOKLYN, Mich. (AP)—General Motors has told NASCAR teams it is cutting back on its support in all of the sanctioning body’s professional series.
Among the teams already notified that they will lose funding are JR Motorsports, owned by Sprint Cup star Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Kevin Harvick Inc., co-owned by Cup star Harvick and his wife, DeLana. JRM races in the second-tier Nationwide Series, while KHI has entries in Nationwide and the third-tier Camping World Truck Series.
Cuts are also expected in the top-tier Sprint Cup series.
