The Movie thread

Did anyone see District9?????
I hear it got something last night at the awards. The previews looked kinda dumb to me so I never got the DVD to watch it.
Is it worth watching?

Watched Adventurland land last night. If you are a child of the 80s you will love this well done movie.Good one to watch with the wife.

My favorite line from the movie was " We are doing the work of lazy pathetic morons"

Just watched the first 15 minutes of Eagle Eye......and took it out of the DVD player.....goes into the too stupid to watch file.

Couples Retreat 3 & 1/2 Beers.

Really?

I found it to be sort of cutesy and the typical cookie-cutter date movie.

The cast of the movie is a good example of what passes for acting anymore. Every one of the people in that movie are the same person in every movie they're in. Vince Vaughn is the identical charachter in everything he's been in over the last decade. That seems to be a trend these days. Find a formula and make the same movie with the same likeable/tolerable charachters over and over.

Even a guy like Pacino- he stopped trying 20 years ago.

Another "date movie", but definitely aiming a little lower.

I watch some of these movies and wonder if these actors even read the scripts.

I caught Pirate Radio last night on PPV. Not bad. But I'm a fan of Rock & Roll nostalgia. One of my all-time favorite non-action movies is Almost Famous.

If you like good dramas, no special effects, no John Woo ridiculous fight seems, no who dunnit crap, I recommend a new zealand movie called Once were Warriors.
No warm fuzzy feeling here. Gritty and raw.
Deep stuff but very well done.

Sometimes a simple movie is all I'm looking for.

Saw that a few years back, good movie , the guy that played Jake the Mus(cle) has been in quite a few movies. He was the gong ringer in Couples Retreat and the bad guy in that Harrison Ford Anne Heche (crappy) movie.

I'm looking forward to one that looks totally mindless- Hot Tub Time Machine.

I'm a big John Cusack fan.
