The Great Unification

I think SVL no matter what org they are involved with are all pretty much on the same page!!!!!

I believe they are in verbal agreement. But not in writing yet. A couple things like the Ilmor, weight, and open or closed I believe have to be documented.

But those guys definitely try to work together to improve actual racing in their class.

we usually have a confrence call to amend an issue,, as for ilmor ,, not,, we all agreed v-8 only,,, weight it,s started at 4750, we moved it up to accomodate some boats that didn.t take advantage of it so were back at 4750, don,t see it changing, they need to quit crying and do their homework now. as for open or closed ???? i didn,t think it was an issue. were canopys, there are about 20 of these boats available if someone wants to race in svl,,, we welcome them, and will help them, i usto race stock cars, but there was no class for them here, so i had to sell them and buy an svl to race in svl,,,,point ? an open boat has it,s place,, its just not in svl.: there can be debates on this for ever,,, a class is a class, :USA:

I was talking about the written rules for SVL for all orgs. you guys have agreed, now it would be nice to see all orgs put your agreements in writing....

true, some people will not allow standardized rules for their advantage. i was told that all would follow the rules for catlite, but it has not happened yet across the board

Can I call:icon_bs:

3 could agree in all 3 orgs SVL,,Cat outboard and Cat light.

There were 6 of you guys Cat Lights in Biloxi. As a group cat light could have emerged as the best cat class this season.

By the end of the season Bob continued to raced often uncontested.

Mike,

Some people have to make their sponsors happy. They will do what it takes to make that happen.

If you want I can make a list of people that flex the rules in their favor but it would involve almost everyone. To give you an example a (Lead Helmet) painted to look like the real one to make weight. It happens a lot.

My point it F@#K the rules. It has been a long time since it was fun.

Think back to Key West 96 You running D class with the 32 and talkin sht.

The rules are keeping lots of potential new people to bring in fresh companies like Ilmor. If they were allowed in Merc might have to step up and help their guys and make it a COMPETITION.

If Ilmor wants to field a boat I can't see why they can't. Panasonic is uncontested. Hard Rock had a pair at some point. OSS has power to weight. There was a Mean Fountain last Key West.

That would certainly be a good start......

Since next year technically starts with Key West. Does next years rules come out before Key West???? If so, anyway possible to review the rules for those three and make sure they are identical? They certainly are close right now....
