SVL is a great class. Progressive, Typhoon, Under Destruction, and IMCO all won races this year. Pig Iron, and Pirate Racing have shown equal speed. There are a few new teams tempted to join in and a few more sitting out that are being called back in to service.
basically you can port the heads and bore the block. Stock head castings, ecu, exhaust, crank, cam, no race fuel, 9.5/1 compression. Pretty simple to tech and reliable.

That's what I was wondering. How do you check Dean's list of mods/non-mods without teardown? And how many mods are there you can check without teardown?

I know the boats are extremely even and set-up is key. Same with SVL and Cat Outboard. So I was wondering how much can be modified and still be able to tech without teardown. That really is a key to improving competition and slight increments of improvement.
Thanks Dean. I just know the number one complaint I hear from ex-racers who have boats sitting around is how rules changes made their boats obsolete after large investments and they won't get back in until the orgs do something about that. Seems like a good reason and not a lame excuse.
Hey bro correct me if I am wrong....but through all the orgs there's a place for every boat imaginable to run!!!!
If it doesn't fit a spec class it definitely fits one of Smitty's classes as his is run what ya brung bracket racing!!! They just want to ***** in my opinion....dust the thing off and race it....If I had a boat to run I would be running it regardless of what, where, who at this point!!!!!

Most don't want to run the GPS classes if they've been winners in spec classes in the past. Plus, you could have a P5 boat legal for SBI that is not legal for Class 5 in OPA and in the reverse too.

Yes stock intakes too. They have to look like a stock 525. If you have a stock ECU, head castings, intake and exhaust with no race fuel, the only thing you can really do to would be to make a 540ci. That would be obvious at the green flag. Right now the boats are within a 1/2 boat of each other going into the first corner so there isn't a need for any real tech. But if that were to change, god help them when I get done ripping thier chit apart. Most of you have seen my mechcanical skills! :sifone:
The real tech is on the water. We have raced against each other enough times to know how even the boats are. Miss a prop setup, I dont care what's under the hood....your done. Ref Cambridge. I got my a@@ handed to me. Louie was on the right setup and made us all look like chumps. He deserved the win. As we watched him and Dean walk away, we were wishing we could down shift. Bad Boy will figure that boat out soon enough. If there is a protest, we kill them. Smitty
There really shouldn't be any because bracket racing is about a certain speed that your boat runs and then you race the bracket that fits that critieria!!!!
