The Great Unification

Why can't we get all of us racers with the boats together this winter for a fun week and chat about all that ,,and see what we ALL can come up with ???
Like a fun run for a charity ???!!!!!!

NO FEES, just charity tickets and food.

The guys from to far north could ride with some of the boats closer to save them from bringing the boats down ???

This internet stuff is great,,but it will not do a damn thing to the situation.
The more high $ teams could help (maybe) with hotel fees and sponsor hotels cold be found to have a fun run event ?????

Just a thought ?!:):seeya:

I would rather race a 525 super v w/bravos against a super v w/6's then to race by myself. Even supercats 750/850 should be racing against each other don't worry about what motors just race. In a offshore race you will see how evenly matched they would be. Offshore racing was never won on the first turn, at least it use to be that way. Racers complain about your boat goes 115 my boat only goes 109 thats not fair need a new class. The open ocean is a great equalizer.

That is a very correct statement......I don't know how many times I can count where my 80-90 mph boat stomped on 90-120 mph boat in 4-8 ft seas!!!!!

Bobby Moore said it best when I was in my early 20's........

In order to finish first, you must first finish!!!!!

That is a big nice list but, in terms of high points only 2 classes had boats that competed in all events. Few are willing or able to do a full series.

SV and class 5..... 6 boats total as I recall.

Now extract from that list and the other orgs list who did 7 or more events.

I PM'd Ryan to see if he had a list ofor OSS like the OPA list Smitty put up. SBI does not have their season standings up on their site. Maybe Pat or Frank has one.

Thanks. I believe everything we are talking about is a dream unless all current boats have a chance of being legal. If it means you run "Similar" boats in the same heat, so be it. I really believe that would work, and then give an extra trophy and flag for the "Top Gun" of that heat class.....

For instance SVL boats run right at 90 best case. So does Outboard Cat, and the 85 Average GPS boats. Run them all together, but add a fourth recognition for the "Top Gun" of that heatrace.....

Team up the other boats by top, or average, speed similar. Then let them all run, hand out the same class winners as now, but give these guys a few years to modify boats for the 10 classes that will be the norm on 5 years or something.
