The best song ever?

I was just watching Bob Dylan on TV and got to thinking about Hunter Thompson saying "Mr. Tambourine Man" was the best song, ever... I don't agree, but I'm currently incapable of confirming my opinion on what the best song ever is (Currently pretty sure its "Long way to the top" by AC/DC or "I made Linda Lovelace Gag" by David Allen Coe) but I'm also fairly loaded, so I'll put it to you guys...

What's the best song EVER?

Ever since you started this thread I have been wanting to hear "It's a long way...." again.
Haad some time today, so i was cruising around YouTube, there is a bunch of great AC/DC versions, and a bunch of ****ty cover stuff, but this version by the DropKick Murphy's is probably the coolest cover i have heard....

Nice! Sounds like real bag pipes...

Has sort of a "Brian Johnson" feel to it. Very cool.

As a matter of coincidence, I was listening to Flogging Molly when I picked up this post...

I simply cannot name one single song just by itself and proclaim it "Best Ever".

I will give you a few songs that I feel should rank right up there, in no particular order :

Fade To Black ~~~ Metallica
Cemetary Gates ~~~ Pantera
Life`s Been Good ~~~ Joe Walsh
Roadhouse Blues ~~~ The Doors
Baba O`Reilly ~~~ The Who
One ~~~ Metallic
The Unforgiven ~~~ Metallica
Problem Child ~~~ AC/DC
Unchained Melody ~~~ Isley Brothers
Suspicious MInds ~~~ Elvis Presley

I could go on and on .....

Its funny I was just going to mention that two bands, noticeablby abscent were the Who and the Doors...

Just heard "Can I kick it" by Tribe Called Quest last night on my iPod. Another awesome song. Always said that if I could ever have a movie about my life, that song would be the one that played at the end as I walked off into the sunset...

Better check post 54. :)

Allman Bros Anything on Live at Fillmore East.

Santana - "Eurpoa"

Yes - "Starship Trooper"

Zepplin........."No Quarter" on Song Remains the Same.

CSNY Deja Vu whole album

Counting Crows "Live at the Ten Spot" whole album

Beatles "Day in the Life"

Born To Run....

That song in itself has documentaries made on it...

There are certain songs on here that automatically start playing in my head as soon as I read the title... This one has to be very close to the top of the list. I bet I haven't heard this song in 4 years and as soon as I read the title the words "The screen door slams..." popped into my head.

As bat-sh*t crazy as Bruce has gone over the years, this is one that's going to stand the test of time.
